Chapter 7

The Guilt Offering

1

[“]Now this is the law of the guilt offering, which [is] most holy:

𐤅𐤆𐤀𐤕 𐤕𐤅𐤓𐤕 𐤄𐤀𐤔𐤌 𐤄𐤅𐤀 𐤒𐤃𐤔 𐤒𐤃𐤔𐤉𐤌

וְזֹ֥את תּוֹרַ֖ת הָאָשָׁ֑ם הֽוּא׃ קֹ֥דֶשׁ קָֽדָשִׁ֖ים wə·zōṯ tō·w·raṯ hā·’ā·šām hū qō·ḏeš qā·ḏā·šîmWLC · 1

The guilt offering must be slaughtered in the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered, and [the priest] shall splatter its blood on all sides of the altar.

𐤄𐤀𐤔𐤌 𐤅𐤀𐤕 𐤉𐤔𐤇𐤈𐤅 𐤀𐤕 𐤁𐤌𐤒𐤅𐤌 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤄𐤏𐤋𐤄 𐤉𐤔𐤇𐤈𐤅 𐤀𐤕 𐤉𐤆𐤓𐤒 𐤃𐤌𐤅 𐤎𐤁𐤉𐤁 𐤏𐤋 𐤄𐤌𐤆𐤁𐤇

הָאָשָׁ֑ם וְאֶת־ יִשְׁחֲטוּ֙ אֶת־ בִּמְק֗וֹם אֲשֶׁ֤ר הָ֣עֹלָ֔ה יִשְׁחֲט֖וּ אֶת־ יִזְרֹ֥ק דָּמ֛וֹ סָבִֽיב׃ עַל־ הַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ hā·’ā·šām wə·’eṯ- yiš·ḥă·ṭū ’eṯ- bim·qō·wm ’ă·šer hā·‘ō·lāh yiš·ḥă·ṭū ’eṯ- yiz·rōq dā·mōw sā·ḇîḇ ‘al- ham·miz·bê·aḥWLC · 2

And all the fat from it shall be offered: the fat tail, the fat that covers the entrails,

𐤅𐤀𐤕 𐤊𐤋 𐤇𐤋𐤁𐤅 𐤌𐤌𐤍𐤅 𐤀𐤕 𐤉𐤒𐤓𐤉𐤁 𐤄𐤀𐤋𐤉𐤄 𐤅𐤀𐤕 𐤄𐤇𐤋𐤁 𐤄𐤌𐤊𐤎𐤄 𐤀𐤕 𐤄𐤒𐤓𐤁

וְאֵ֥ת כָּל־ חֶלְבּ֖וֹ מִמֶּ֑נּוּ אֵ֚ת יַקְרִ֣יב הָֽאַלְיָ֔ה וְאֶת־ הַחֵ֖לֶב הַֽמְכַסֶּ֥ה אֶת־ הַקֶּֽרֶב׃ wə·’êṯ kāl- ḥel·bōw mim·men·nū ’êṯ yaq·rîḇ hā·’al·yāh wə·’eṯ- ha·ḥê·leḇ ham·ḵas·seh ’eṯ- haq·qe·reḇWLC · 3

  • both kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the lobe of the liver, which is to be removed with the kidneys.

𐤅𐤀𐤕 𐤔𐤕𐤉 𐤄𐤊𐤋𐤉𐤕 𐤅𐤀𐤕 𐤄𐤇𐤋𐤁 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤏𐤋𐤉𐤄𐤍 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤏𐤋 𐤄𐤊𐤎𐤋𐤉𐤌 𐤅𐤀𐤕 𐤄𐤉𐤕𐤓𐤕 𐤏𐤋 𐤄𐤊𐤁𐤃 𐤉𐤎𐤉𐤓𐤍𐤄 𐤏𐤋 𐤄𐤊𐤋𐤉𐤕

וְאֵת֙ שְׁתֵּ֣י הַכְּלָיֹ֔ת וְאֶת־ הַחֵ֙לֶב֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עֲלֵיהֶ֔ן אֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל־ הַכְּסָלִ֑ים וְאֶת־ הַיֹּתֶ֙רֶת֙ עַל־ הַכָּבֵ֔ד יְסִירֶֽנָּה׃ עַל־ הַכְּלָיֹ֖ת wə·’êṯ šə·tê hak·kə·lā·yōṯ wə·’eṯ- ha·ḥê·leḇ ’ă·šer ‘ă·lê·hen ’ă·šer ‘al- hak·kə·sā·lîm wə·’eṯ- hay·yō·ṯe·reṯ ‘al- hak·kā·ḇêḏ yə·sî·ren·nāh ‘al- hak·kə·lā·yōṯWLC · 4

The priest shall burn them on the altar as a food offering to the LORD; it is a guilt offering.

𐤄𐤊𐤄𐤍 𐤅𐤄𐤒𐤈𐤉𐤓 𐤀𐤕𐤌 𐤄𐤌𐤆𐤁𐤇𐤄 𐤀𐤔𐤄 𐤋𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤄𐤅𐤀 𐤀𐤔𐤌

הַכֹּהֵן֙ וְהִקְטִ֨יר אֹתָ֤ם הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חָה אִשֶּׁ֖ה לַיהוָ֑ה הֽוּא׃ אָשָׁ֖ם hak·kō·hên wə·hiq·ṭîr ’ō·ṯām ham·miz·bê·ḥāh ’iš·šeh Yah·weh hū ’ā·šāmWLC · 5

Every male among the priests may eat of it. It must be eaten in a holy place; it [is] most holy.

𐤊𐤋 𐤆𐤊𐤓 𐤁𐤊𐤄𐤍𐤉𐤌 𐤉𐤀𐤊𐤋𐤍𐤅 𐤉𐤀𐤊𐤋 𐤒𐤃𐤅𐤔 𐤁𐤌𐤒𐤅𐤌 𐤄𐤅𐤀 𐤒𐤃𐤔 𐤒𐤃𐤔𐤉𐤌

כָּל־ זָכָ֥ר בַּכֹּהֲנִ֖ים יֹאכְלֶ֑נּוּ יֵאָכֵ֔ל קָדוֹשׁ֙ בְּמָק֤וֹם הֽוּא׃ קֹ֥דֶשׁ קָֽדָשִׁ֖ים kāl- zā·ḵār bak·kō·hă·nîm yō·ḵə·len·nū yê·’ā·ḵêl qā·ḏō·wōš bə·mā·qō·wm hū qō·ḏeš qā·ḏā·šîmWLC · 6

The guilt offering is like the sin offering; the same law applies to both. It belongs to the priest who makes atonement with it

𐤊𐤀𐤔𐤌 𐤊𐤇𐤈𐤀𐤕 𐤀𐤇𐤕 𐤕𐤅𐤓𐤄 𐤋𐤄𐤌 𐤉𐤄𐤉𐤄 𐤄𐤊𐤄𐤍 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤉𐤊𐤐𐤓 𐤁𐤅 𐤋𐤅

כָּֽאָשָׁ֔ם כַּֽחַטָּאת֙ אַחַ֖ת תּוֹרָ֥ה לָהֶ֑ם יִהְיֶֽה׃ הַכֹּהֵ֛ן אֲשֶׁ֥ר יְכַפֶּר־ בּ֖וֹ ל֥וֹ kā·’ā·šām ka·ḥaṭ·ṭāṯ ’a·ḥaṯ tō·w·rāh lā·hem yih·yeh hak·kō·hên ’ă·šer yə·ḵap·per- bōw lōwWLC · 7

As for the priest who presents a burnt offering for anyone, the hide of [that] offering -… belongs to him…

𐤅𐤄𐤊𐤄𐤍 𐤄𐤌𐤒𐤓𐤉𐤁 𐤀𐤕 𐤏𐤋𐤕 𐤀𐤉𐤔 𐤏𐤅𐤓 𐤄𐤏𐤋𐤄 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤄𐤒𐤓𐤉𐤁 𐤋𐤊𐤄𐤍 𐤋𐤅 𐤉𐤄𐤉𐤄

וְהַ֨כֹּהֵ֔ן הַמַּקְרִ֖יב אֶת־ עֹ֣לַת אִ֑ישׁ ע֤וֹר הָֽעֹלָה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הִקְרִ֔יב לַכֹּהֵ֖ן ל֥וֹ יִהְיֶֽה׃ wə·hak·kō·hên ham·maq·rîḇ ’eṯ- ‘ō·laṯ ’îš ‘ō·wr hā·‘ō·lāh ’ă·šer hiq·rîḇ lak·kō·hên lōw yih·yehWLC · 8

Likewise, every grain offering that is baked in an oven… or cooked in a pan or on a griddle belongs to the priest who presents it,

𐤅𐤊𐤋 𐤌𐤍𐤇𐤄 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤕𐤀𐤐𐤄 𐤁𐤕𐤍𐤅𐤓 𐤅𐤊𐤋 𐤍𐤏𐤔𐤄 𐤁𐤌𐤓𐤇𐤔𐤕 𐤅𐤏𐤋 𐤌𐤇𐤁𐤕 𐤕𐤄𐤉𐤄 𐤋𐤅 𐤋𐤊𐤄𐤍 𐤄𐤌𐤒𐤓𐤉𐤁 𐤀𐤕𐤄

וְכָל־ מִנְחָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר תֵּֽאָפֶה֙ בַּתַּנּ֔וּר וְכָל־ נַעֲשָׂ֥ה בַמַּרְחֶ֖שֶׁת וְעַֽל־ מַחֲבַ֑ת תִֽהְיֶֽה׃ ל֥וֹ לַכֹּהֵ֛ן הַמַּקְרִ֥יב אֹתָ֖הּ wə·ḵāl min·ḥāh ’ă·šer tê·’ā·p̄eh bat·tan·nūr wə·ḵāl na·‘ă·śāh ḇam·mar·ḥe·šeṯ wə·‘al- ma·ḥă·ḇaṯ ṯih·yeh lōw lak·kō·hên ham·maq·rîḇ ’ō·ṯāhWLC · 9

and every grain offering, whether dry or mixed with oil, belongs equally… to all the sons of Aaron.

𐤅𐤊𐤋 𐤌𐤍𐤇𐤄 𐤅𐤇𐤓𐤁𐤄 𐤁𐤋𐤅𐤋𐤄 𐤁𐤔𐤌𐤍 𐤀𐤉𐤔 𐤊𐤀𐤇𐤉𐤅𐤐 𐤕𐤄𐤉𐤄 𐤋𐤊𐤋 𐤁𐤍𐤉 𐤀𐤄𐤓𐤍

וְכָל־ מִנְחָ֥ה וַחֲרֵבָ֑ה בְלוּלָֽה־ בַשֶּׁ֖מֶן אִ֥ישׁ כְּאָחִֽיו׃פ תִּהְיֶ֖ה לְכָל־ בְּנֵ֧י אַהֲרֹ֛ן wə·ḵāl min·ḥāh wa·ḥă·rê·ḇāh ḇə·lū·lāh- ḇaš·še·men ’îš kə·’ā·ḥîw tih·yeh lə·ḵāl bə·nê ’a·hă·rōnWLC · 10

The Peace Offering

Now this is the law vvv of the peace offering that one may present to the LORD:

𐤅𐤆𐤀𐤕 𐤕𐤅𐤓𐤕 𐤆𐤁𐤇 𐤄𐤔𐤋𐤌𐤉𐤌 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤉𐤒𐤓𐤉𐤁 𐤋𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄

וְזֹ֥את תּוֹרַ֖ת זֶ֣בַח הַשְּׁלָמִ֑ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר יַקְרִ֖יב לַיהוָֽה׃ wə·zōṯ tō·w·raṯ ze·ḇaḥ haš·šə·lā·mîm ’ă·šer yaq·rîḇ Yah·wehWLC · 11

If he offers it in thanksgiving, then along with the sacrifice of thanksgiving he shall offer unleavened cakes mixed with olive oil, unleavened wafers coated with oil, and well-kneaded cakes of fine flour mixed with oil.

𐤀𐤌 𐤉𐤒𐤓𐤉𐤁𐤍𐤅 𐤏𐤋 𐤕𐤅𐤃𐤄 𐤏𐤋 𐤆𐤁𐤇 𐤄𐤕𐤅𐤃𐤄 𐤅𐤄𐤒𐤓𐤉𐤁 𐤌𐤑𐤅𐤕 𐤇𐤋𐤅𐤕 𐤁𐤋𐤅𐤋𐤕 𐤁𐤔𐤌𐤍 𐤌𐤑𐤅𐤕 𐤅𐤓𐤒𐤉𐤒𐤉 𐤌𐤔𐤇𐤉𐤌 𐤁𐤔𐤌𐤍 𐤌𐤓𐤁𐤊𐤕 𐤇𐤋𐤕 𐤅𐤎𐤋𐤕 𐤁𐤋𐤅𐤋𐤕 𐤁𐤔𐤌𐤍

אִ֣ם יַקְרִיבֶנּוּ֒ עַל־ תּוֹדָה֮ עַל־ זֶ֣בַח הַתּוֹדָ֗ה וְהִקְרִ֣יב׀ מַצּוֹת֙ חַלּ֤וֹת בְּלוּלֹ֣ת בַּשֶּׁ֔מֶן מַצּ֖וֹת וּרְקִיקֵ֥י מְשֻׁחִ֣ים בַּשָּׁ֑מֶן מֻרְבֶּ֔כֶת חַלֹּ֖ת וְסֹ֣לֶת בְּלוּלֹ֥ת בַּשָּֽׁמֶן׃ ’im yaq·rî·ḇen·nū ‘al- tō·w·ḏāh ‘al- ze·ḇaḥ hat·tō·w·ḏāh wə·hiq·rîḇ maṣ·ṣō·wṯ ḥal·lō·wṯ bə·lū·lōṯ baš·še·men maṣ·ṣō·wṯ ū·rə·qî·qê mə·šu·ḥîm baš·šā·men mur·be·ḵeṯ ḥal·lōṯ wə·sō·leṯ bə·lū·lōṯ baš·šā·menWLC · 12

Along with vvv his peace offering of thanksgiving he is to present an offering with cakes of leavened bread.

𐤏𐤋 𐤏𐤋 𐤆𐤁𐤇 𐤔𐤋𐤌𐤉𐤅 𐤕𐤅𐤃𐤕 𐤉𐤒𐤓𐤉𐤁 𐤒𐤓𐤁𐤍𐤅 𐤇𐤋𐤕 𐤇𐤌𐤑 𐤋𐤇𐤌

עַל־ עַל־ זֶ֖בַח שְׁלָמָֽיו׃ תּוֹדַ֥ת יַקְרִ֖יב קָרְבָּנ֑וֹ חַלֹּת֙ חָמֵ֔ץ לֶ֣חֶם ‘al- ‘al- ze·ḇaḥ šə·lā·māw tō·w·ḏaṯ yaq·rîḇ qā·rə·bā·nōw ḥal·lōṯ ḥā·mêṣ le·ḥemWLC · 13

From the cakes he must present one portion of each offering as a contribution to the LORD. It belongs to the priest who sprinkles the blood of the peace offering.

𐤌𐤌𐤍𐤅 𐤅𐤄𐤒𐤓𐤉𐤁 𐤀𐤇𐤃 𐤌𐤊𐤋 𐤒𐤓𐤁𐤍 𐤕𐤓𐤅𐤌𐤄 𐤋𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤉𐤄𐤉𐤄 𐤋𐤅 𐤋𐤊𐤄𐤍 𐤄𐤆𐤓𐤒 𐤀𐤕 𐤃𐤌 𐤄𐤔𐤋𐤌𐤉𐤌

מִמֶּ֤נּוּ וְהִקְרִ֨יב אֶחָד֙ מִכָּל־ קָרְבָּ֔ן תְּרוּמָ֖ה לַיהוָ֑ה יִהְיֶֽה׃ ל֥וֹ לַכֹּהֵ֗ן הַזֹּרֵ֛ק אֶת־ דַּ֥ם הַשְּׁלָמִ֖ים mim·men·nū wə·hiq·rîḇ ’e·ḥāḏ mik·kāl qār·bān tə·rū·māh Yah·weh yih·yeh lōw lak·kō·hên haz·zō·rêq ’eṯ- dam haš·šə·lā·mîmWLC · 14

The meat of the sacrifice of his peace offering of thanksgiving must be eaten on the day he offers it; none of it may be left until morning.

𐤅𐤁𐤔𐤓 𐤆𐤁𐤇 𐤔𐤋𐤌𐤉𐤅 𐤕𐤅𐤃𐤕 𐤉𐤀𐤊𐤋 𐤁𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤒𐤓𐤁𐤍𐤅 𐤋𐤀 𐤌𐤌𐤍𐤅 𐤉𐤍𐤉𐤇 𐤏𐤃 𐤁𐤒𐤓

וּבְשַׂ֗ר זֶ֚בַח שְׁלָמָ֔יו תּוֹדַ֣ת יֵאָכֵ֑ל בְּי֥וֹם קָרְבָּנ֖וֹ לֹֽא־ מִמֶּ֖נּוּ יַנִּ֥יחַ עַד־ בֹּֽקֶר׃ ū·ḇə·śar ze·ḇaḥ šə·lā·māw tō·w·ḏaṯ yê·’ā·ḵêl bə·yō·wm qā·rə·bā·nōw lō- mim·men·nū yan·nî·aḥ ‘aḏ- bō·qerWLC · 15

If, however, the sacrifice he offers is a vow or a freewill offering, it shall be eaten on the day he presents his sacrifice, but the remainder may be eaten on the next day.

𐤅𐤀𐤌 𐤆𐤁𐤇 𐤒𐤓𐤁𐤍𐤅 𐤍𐤃𐤓 𐤀𐤅 𐤍𐤃𐤁𐤄 𐤉𐤀𐤊𐤋 𐤁𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤄𐤒𐤓𐤉𐤁𐤅 𐤀𐤕 𐤆𐤁𐤇𐤅 𐤅𐤄𐤍𐤅𐤕𐤓 𐤉𐤀𐤊𐤋 𐤌𐤌𐤍𐤅 𐤅𐤌𐤌𐤇𐤓𐤕

וְאִם־ זֶ֚בַח קָרְבָּנ֔וֹ נֶ֣דֶר׀ א֣וֹ נְדָבָ֗ה יֵאָכֵ֑ל בְּי֛וֹם הַקְרִיב֥וֹ אֶת־ זִבְח֖וֹ וְהַנּוֹתָ֥ר יֵאָכֵֽל׃ מִמֶּ֖נּוּ וּמִֽמָּחֳרָ֔ת wə·’im- ze·ḇaḥ qā·rə·bā·nōw ne·ḏer ’ōw nə·ḏā·ḇāh yê·’ā·ḵêl bə·yō·wm haq·rî·ḇōw ’eṯ- ziḇ·ḥōw wə·han·nō·w·ṯār yê·’ā·ḵêl mim·men·nū ū·mim·mā·ḥo·rāṯWLC · 16

But any meat of the sacrifice remaining until the third day vvv must be burned up.

𐤌𐤁𐤔𐤓 𐤄𐤆𐤁𐤇 𐤅𐤄𐤍𐤅𐤕𐤓 𐤄𐤔𐤋𐤉𐤔𐤉 𐤁𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤁𐤀𐤔 𐤉𐤔𐤓𐤐

מִבְּשַׂ֣ר הַזָּ֑בַח וְהַנּוֹתָ֖ר הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֔י בַּיּוֹם֙ בָּאֵ֖שׁ יִשָּׂרֵֽף׃ mib·bə·śar haz·zā·ḇaḥ wə·han·nō·w·ṯār haš·šə·lî·šî bay·yō·wm bā·’êš yiś·śā·rêp̄WLC · 17

If any of the meat vvv from his peace offering is eaten on the third day, it will not be accepted. It will not be credited to the one who presented it; it shall be an abomination, and the one who eats of it shall bear his iniquity.

𐤅𐤀𐤌 𐤄𐤀𐤊𐤋 𐤌𐤁𐤔𐤓 𐤆𐤁𐤇 𐤔𐤋𐤌𐤉𐤅 𐤉𐤀𐤊𐤋 𐤄𐤔𐤋𐤉𐤔𐤉 𐤁𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤋𐤀 𐤉𐤓𐤑𐤄 𐤋𐤀 𐤉𐤇𐤔𐤁 𐤋𐤅 𐤄𐤌𐤒𐤓𐤉𐤁 𐤀𐤕𐤅 𐤉𐤄𐤉𐤄 𐤐𐤂𐤅𐤋 𐤅𐤄𐤍𐤐𐤔 𐤄𐤀𐤊𐤋𐤕 𐤌𐤌𐤍𐤅 𐤕𐤔𐤀 𐤏𐤅𐤍𐤄

וְאִ֣ם הֵאָכֹ֣ל מִבְּשַׂר־ זֶ֨בַח שְׁלָמָ֜יו יֵ֠אָכֵל הַשְּׁלִישִׁי֮ בַּיּ֣וֹם לֹ֣א יֵרָצֶה֒ לֹ֧א יֵחָשֵׁ֛ב ל֖וֹ הַמַּקְרִ֣יב אֹת֗וֹ יִהְיֶ֑ה פִּגּ֣וּל וְהַנֶּ֛פֶשׁ הָאֹכֶ֥לֶת מִמֶּ֖נּוּ תִּשָּֽׂא׃ עֲוֺנָ֥הּ wə·’im hê·’ā·ḵōl mib·bə·śar- ze·ḇaḥ šə·lā·māw yê·’ā·ḵêl haš·šə·lî·šî bay·yō·wm lō yê·rā·ṣeh lō yê·ḥā·šêḇ lōw ham·maq·rîḇ ’ō·ṯōw yih·yeh pig·gūl wə·han·ne·p̄eš hā·’ō·ḵe·leṯ mim·men·nū tiś·śā ‘ă·wō·nāhWLC · 18

Meat that touches anything unclean must not be eaten; vvv it is to be burned up. As for any other meat, anyone who is ceremonially clean may eat it.

𐤅𐤄𐤁𐤔𐤓 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤉𐤂𐤏 𐤁𐤊𐤋 𐤈𐤌𐤀 𐤋𐤀 𐤉𐤀𐤊𐤋 𐤁𐤀𐤔 𐤉𐤔𐤓𐤐 𐤁𐤔𐤓 𐤅𐤄𐤁𐤔𐤓 𐤊𐤋 𐤈𐤄𐤅𐤓 𐤉𐤀𐤊𐤋

וְהַבָּשָׂ֞ר אֲשֶׁר־ יִגַּ֤ע בְּכָל־ טָמֵא֙ לֹ֣א יֵֽאָכֵ֔ל בָּאֵ֖שׁ יִשָּׂרֵ֑ף בָּשָֽׂר׃ וְהַ֨בָּשָׂ֔ר כָּל־ טָה֖וֹר יֹאכַ֥ל wə·hab·bā·śār ’ă·šer- yig·ga‘ bə·ḵāl ṭā·mê lō yê·’ā·ḵêl bā·’êš yiś·śā·rêp̄ bā·śār wə·hab·bā·śār kāl- ṭā·hō·wr yō·ḵalWLC · 19

But if anyone who is unclean eats meat vvv from the peace offering that belongs to the LORD…, that person must be cut off from his people.

𐤅𐤄𐤍𐤐𐤔 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤅𐤈𐤌𐤀𐤕𐤅 𐤕𐤀𐤊𐤋 𐤁𐤔𐤓 𐤌𐤆𐤁𐤇 𐤄𐤔𐤋𐤌𐤉𐤌 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤋𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤏𐤋𐤉𐤅 𐤄𐤄𐤅𐤀 𐤄𐤍𐤐𐤔 𐤅𐤍𐤊𐤓𐤕𐤄 𐤌𐤏𐤌𐤉𐤄

If one touches anything unclean, whether human uncleanness, an unclean animal, or any unclean, detestable thing, and then eats any of the meat vvv of the peace offering that belongs to the LORD, that person must be cut off from his people.”

“Speak to the Israelites… [and] say, ‘You are not to eat any of the fat of an ox, a sheep, or a goat.

The fat of an animal found dead… or mauled by wild beasts may be used for any other purpose, but you must not eat it.

If anyone eats the fat of an animal from which a food offering may be presented to the LORD, the one who eats it must be cut off from his people.

You must not eat the blood of any bird or animal in any of your dwellings.

“Speak to the Israelites… [and] say, ‘Anyone who presents vvv a peace offering to the LORD must bring [it] as his sacrifice… to the LORD.

With his own hands he is to bring the food offerings to the LORD; he shall bring the fat, together with the breast, and wave the breast as a wave offering before the LORD.

The priest is to burn the fat on the altar, but the breast belongs to Aaron and his sons.

And you are to give the right thigh to the priest as a contribution vvv from your peace offering.

The son of Aaron who presents the blood and fat of the peace offering shall have the right thigh as a portion.

  • I have taken from the sons of Israel the breast of the wave offering and the thigh of the contribution vvv of their peace offerings, and I have given them to Aaron the priest and his sons as a permanent… portion from the sons of Israel.’”

This is the portion of the food offerings to the LORD for Aaron and his sons since the day they were presented to serve the LORD as priests.

On the day they were anointed, the LORD commanded that this be given them by the sons of Israel… It is a permanent portion for the generations to come.

This is the law of the burnt offering, the grain offering, the sin offering, the guilt offering, the ordination offering, vvv and the peace offering,
