Chapter 26

Offering Firstfruits and Tithes

1

  • When you enter… the land that the LORD your God is giving you [as] an inheritance, and you take possession of it and settle in it,

𐤅𐤄𐤉𐤄 𐤊𐤉 𐤕𐤁𐤅𐤀 𐤀𐤋 𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤊 𐤍𐤕𐤍 𐤋𐤊 𐤍𐤇𐤋𐤄 𐤅𐤉𐤓𐤔𐤕𐤄 𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤁𐤕 𐤁𐤄

וְהָיָה֙ כִּֽי־ תָב֣וֹא אֶל־ הָאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁר֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ נֹתֵ֥ן לְךָ֖ נַחֲלָ֑ה וִֽירִשְׁתָּ֖הּ וְיָשַׁ֥בְתָּ בָּֽהּ׃ wə·hā·yāh kî- ṯā·ḇō·w ’el- hā·’ā·reṣ ’ă·šer Yah·weh ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā nō·ṯên lə·ḵā na·ḥă·lāh wî·riš·tāh wə·yā·šaḇ·tā bāhWLC · 1

you are to take some of the firstfruits of all your produce - from the soil of the land that the LORD your God is giving you and put [them] in a basket. Then go to the place the LORD your God will choose… as a dwelling for His Name,

𐤅𐤋𐤒𐤇𐤕 𐤌𐤓𐤀𐤔𐤉𐤕 𐤊𐤋 𐤐𐤓𐤉 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤕𐤁𐤉𐤀 𐤄𐤀𐤃𐤌𐤄 𐤌𐤀𐤓𐤑𐤊 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤊 𐤍𐤕𐤍 𐤋𐤊 𐤅𐤔𐤌𐤕 𐤁𐤈𐤍𐤀 𐤅𐤄𐤋𐤊𐤕 𐤀𐤋 𐤄𐤌𐤒𐤅𐤌 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤊 𐤉𐤁𐤇𐤓 𐤔𐤌 𐤋𐤔𐤊𐤍 𐤔𐤌𐤅

וְלָקַחְתָּ֞ מֵרֵאשִׁ֣ית׀ כָּל־ פְּרִ֣י אֲשֶׁ֨ר תָּבִ֧יא הָאֲדָמָ֗ה מֵֽאַרְצְךָ֛ אֲשֶׁ֨ר יְהוָ֧ה אֱלֹהֶ֛יךָ נֹתֵ֥ן לָ֖ךְ וְשַׂמְתָּ֣ בַטֶּ֑נֶא וְהָֽלַכְתָּ֙ אֶל־ הַמָּק֔וֹם אֲשֶׁ֤ר יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ יִבְחַר֙ שָֽׁם׃ לְשַׁכֵּ֥ן שְׁמ֖וֹ wə·lā·qaḥ·tā mê·rê·šîṯ kāl- pə·rî ’ă·šer tā·ḇî hā·’ă·ḏā·māh mê·’ar·ṣə·ḵā ’ă·šer Yah·weh ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā nō·ṯên lāḵ wə·śam·tā ḇaṭ·ṭe·ne wə·hā·laḵ·tā ’el- ham·mā·qō·wm ’ă·šer Yah·weh ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā yiḇ·ḥar šām lə·šak·kên šə·mōwWLC · 2

  • to the priest who is serving at that time, and say to him, “I declare today to the LORD your God that I have entered… the land that the LORD swore to our fathers to give us.”

𐤅𐤁𐤀𐤕 𐤀𐤋 𐤄𐤊𐤄𐤍 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤉𐤄𐤉𐤄 𐤄𐤄𐤌 𐤁𐤉𐤌𐤉𐤌 𐤅𐤀𐤌𐤓𐤕 𐤀𐤋𐤉𐤅 𐤄𐤂𐤃𐤕𐤉 𐤄𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤋𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤊 𐤊𐤉 𐤁𐤀𐤕𐤉 𐤀𐤋 𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤍𐤔𐤁𐤏 𐤋𐤀𐤁𐤕𐤉𐤍𐤅 𐤋𐤕𐤕 𐤋𐤍𐤅

וּבָאתָ֙ אֶל־ הַכֹּהֵ֔ן אֲשֶׁ֥ר יִהְיֶ֖ה הָהֵ֑ם בַּיָּמִ֣ים וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֵלָ֗יו הִגַּ֤דְתִּי הַיּוֹם֙ לַיהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ כִּי־ בָ֙אתִי֙ אֶל־ הָאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֨ר יְהוָ֛ה נִשְׁבַּ֧ע לַאֲבֹתֵ֖ינוּ לָ֥תֶת לָֽנוּ׃ ū·ḇā·ṯā ’el- hak·kō·hên ’ă·šer yih·yeh hā·hêm bay·yā·mîm wə·’ā·mar·tā ’ê·lāw hig·gaḏ·tî hay·yō·wm Yah·weh ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā kî- ḇā·ṯî ’el- hā·’ā·reṣ ’ă·šer Yah·weh niš·ba‘ la·’ă·ḇō·ṯê·nū lā·ṯeṯ lā·nūWLC · 3

Then the priest shall take the basket from your hands and place it before the altar of the LORD your God,

𐤄𐤊𐤄𐤍 𐤅𐤋𐤒𐤇 𐤄𐤈𐤍𐤀 𐤌𐤉𐤃𐤊 𐤅𐤄𐤍𐤉𐤇𐤅 𐤋𐤐𐤍𐤉 𐤌𐤆𐤁𐤇 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤊

הַכֹּהֵ֛ן וְלָקַ֧ח הַטֶּ֖נֶא מִיָּדֶ֑ךָ וְהִ֨נִּיח֔וֹ לִפְנֵ֕י מִזְבַּ֖ח יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶֽיךָ׃ hak·kō·hên wə·lā·qaḥ haṭ·ṭe·ne mî·yā·ḏe·ḵā wə·hin·nî·ḥōw lip̄·nê miz·baḥ Yah·weh ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵāWLC · 4

and you are to declare… before the LORD your God, “My father was a wandering Aramean, and he went down to Egypt few in number and lived there… and became a great nation, mighty and numerous.

𐤅𐤏𐤍𐤉𐤕 𐤅𐤀𐤌𐤓𐤕 𐤋𐤐𐤍𐤉 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤊 𐤀𐤁𐤉 𐤀𐤁𐤃 𐤀𐤓𐤌𐤉 𐤅𐤉𐤓𐤃 𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌𐤄 𐤌𐤏𐤈 𐤅𐤉𐤂𐤓 𐤔𐤌 𐤁𐤌𐤕𐤉 𐤔𐤌 𐤅𐤉𐤄𐤉 𐤂𐤃𐤅𐤋 𐤋𐤂𐤅𐤉 𐤏𐤑𐤅𐤌 𐤅𐤓𐤁

וְעָנִ֨יתָ וְאָמַרְתָּ֜ לִפְנֵ֣י׀ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֗יךָ אָבִ֔י אֹבֵ֣ד אֲרַמִּי֙ וַיֵּ֣רֶד מִצְרַ֔יְמָה מְעָ֑ט וַיָּ֥גָר שָׁ֖ם בִּמְתֵ֣י שָׁ֕ם וַֽיְהִי־ גָּד֖וֹל לְג֥וֹי עָצ֥וּם וָרָֽב׃ wə·‘ā·nî·ṯā wə·’ā·mar·tā lip̄·nê Yah·weh ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā ’ā·ḇî ’ō·ḇêḏ ’ă·ram·mî way·yê·reḏ miṣ·ray·māh mə·‘āṭ way·yā·ḡār šām bim·ṯê šām way·hî- gā·ḏō·wl lə·ḡō·w ‘ā·ṣūm wā·rāḇWLC · 5

But the Egyptians mistreated us and afflicted us, putting us… to hard labor.

𐤄𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 𐤅𐤉𐤓𐤏𐤅 𐤀𐤕𐤍𐤅 𐤅𐤉𐤏𐤍𐤅𐤍𐤅 𐤅𐤉𐤕𐤍𐤅 𐤏𐤋𐤉𐤍𐤅 𐤒𐤔𐤄 𐤏𐤁𐤃𐤄

הַמִּצְרִ֖ים וַיָּרֵ֧עוּ אֹתָ֛נוּ וַיְעַנּ֑וּנוּ וַיִּתְּנ֥וּ עָלֵ֖ינוּ קָשָֽׁה׃ עֲבֹדָ֥ה ham·miṣ·rîm way·yā·rê·‘ū ’ō·ṯā·nū way·‘an·nū·nū way·yit·tə·nū ‘ā·lê·nū qā·šāh ‘ă·ḇō·ḏāhWLC · 6

So we called out to the LORD, the God of our fathers; and the LORD heard our voice and saw our affliction, toil, and oppression.

𐤅𐤍𐤑𐤏𐤒 𐤀𐤋 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉 𐤀𐤁𐤕𐤉𐤍𐤅 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤀𐤕 𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤌𐤏 𐤒𐤋𐤍𐤅 𐤅𐤉𐤓𐤀 𐤀𐤕 𐤏𐤍𐤉𐤍𐤅 𐤅𐤀𐤕 𐤏𐤌𐤋𐤍𐤅 𐤅𐤀𐤕 𐤋𐤇𐤑𐤍𐤅

וַנִּצְעַ֕ק אֶל־ יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֣י אֲבֹתֵ֑ינוּ יְהוָה֙ אֶת־ וַיִּשְׁמַ֤ע קֹלֵ֔נוּ וַיַּ֧רְא אֶת־ עָנְיֵ֛נוּ וְאֶת־ עֲמָלֵ֖נוּ וְאֶת־ לַחֲצֵֽנוּ׃ wan·niṣ·‘aq ’el- Yah·weh ’ĕ·lō·hê ’ă·ḇō·ṯê·nū Yah·weh ’eṯ- way·yiš·ma‘ qō·lê·nū way·yar ’eṯ- ‘ā·nə·yê·nū wə·’eṯ- ‘ă·mā·lê·nū wə·’eṯ- la·ḥă·ṣê·nūWLC · 7

Then the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, with great terror, signs, and wonders.

𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤅𐤉𐤅𐤑𐤀𐤍𐤅 𐤌𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 𐤇𐤆𐤒𐤄 𐤁𐤉𐤃 𐤍𐤈𐤅𐤉𐤄 𐤅𐤁𐤆𐤓𐤏 𐤂𐤃𐤋 𐤅𐤁𐤌𐤓𐤀 𐤅𐤁𐤀𐤕𐤅𐤕 𐤅𐤁𐤌𐤐𐤕𐤉𐤌

יְהוָה֙ וַיּוֹצִאֵ֤נוּ מִמִּצְרַ֔יִם חֲזָקָה֙ בְּיָ֤ד נְטוּיָ֔ה וּבִזְרֹ֣עַ גָּדֹ֑ל וּבְמֹרָ֖א וּבְאֹת֖וֹת וּבְמֹפְתִֽים׃ Yah·weh way·yō·w·ṣi·’ê·nū mim·miṣ·ra·yim ḥă·zā·qāh bə·yāḏ nə·ṭū·yāh ū·ḇiz·rō·a‘ gā·ḏōl ū·ḇə·mō·rā ū·ḇə·’ō·ṯō·wṯ ū·ḇə·mō·p̄ə·ṯîmWLC · 8

And He brought us to this place and gave us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey.

𐤅𐤉𐤁𐤀𐤍𐤅 𐤀𐤋 𐤄𐤆𐤄 𐤄𐤌𐤒𐤅𐤌 𐤅𐤉𐤕𐤍 𐤋𐤍𐤅 𐤀𐤕 𐤄𐤆𐤀𐤕 𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 𐤀𐤓𐤑 𐤆𐤁𐤕 𐤇𐤋𐤁 𐤅𐤃𐤁𐤔

וַיְבִאֵ֖נוּ אֶל־ הַזֶּ֑ה הַמָּק֣וֹם וַיִּתֶּן־ לָ֙נוּ֙ אֶת־ הַזֹּ֔את הָאָ֣רֶץ אֶ֛רֶץ זָבַ֥ת חָלָ֖ב וּדְבָֽשׁ׃ way·ḇi·’ê·nū ’el- haz·zeh ham·mā·qō·wm way·yit·ten- lā·nū ’eṯ- haz·zōṯ hā·’ā·reṣ ’e·reṣ zā·ḇaṯ ḥā·lāḇ ū·ḏə·ḇāšWLC · 9

And now, behold, I have brought vvv the firstfruits of the land that You, O LORD, have given me.” Then you are to place [the basket] before the LORD your God and bow down before Him…

𐤅𐤏𐤕𐤄 𐤄𐤍𐤄 𐤄𐤁𐤀𐤕𐤉 𐤀𐤕 𐤓𐤀𐤔𐤉𐤕 𐤐𐤓𐤉 𐤄𐤀𐤃𐤌𐤄 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤍𐤕𐤕𐤄 𐤋𐤉 𐤅𐤄𐤍𐤇𐤕𐤅 𐤋𐤐𐤍𐤉 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤊 𐤅𐤄𐤔𐤕𐤇𐤅𐤉𐤕 𐤋𐤐𐤍𐤉 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤊

וְעַתָּ֗ה הִנֵּ֤ה הֵבֵ֙אתִי֙ אֶת־ רֵאשִׁית֙ פְּרִ֣י הָאֲדָמָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־ יְהוָ֑ה נָתַ֥תָּה לִּ֖י וְהִנַּחְתּ֗וֹ לִפְנֵי֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ וְהִֽשְׁתַּחֲוִ֔יתָ לִפְנֵ֖י יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶֽיךָ׃ wə·‘at·tāh hin·nêh hê·ḇê·ṯî ’eṯ- rê·šîṯ pə·rî hā·’ă·ḏā·māh ’ă·šer- Yah·weh nā·ṯat·tāh lî wə·hin·naḥ·tōw lip̄·nê Yah·weh ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā wə·hiš·ta·ḥă·wî·ṯā lip̄·nê Yah·weh ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵāWLC · 10

So you shall rejoice— you, the Levite, and the foreigner dwelling among you— in all the good things the LORD your God has given to you and your household.

𐤅𐤔𐤌𐤇𐤕 𐤀𐤕𐤄 𐤅𐤄𐤋𐤅𐤉 𐤅𐤄𐤂𐤓 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤁𐤒𐤓𐤁𐤊𐤎 𐤁𐤊𐤋 𐤄𐤈𐤅𐤁 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤊 𐤍𐤕𐤍 𐤋𐤊 𐤅𐤋𐤁𐤉𐤕𐤊

וְשָׂמַחְתָּ֣ אַתָּה֙ וְהַלֵּוִ֔י וְהַגֵּ֖ר אֲשֶׁ֥ר בְּקִרְבֶּֽךָ׃ס בְכָל־ הַטּ֗וֹב אֲשֶׁ֧ר יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ נָֽתַן־ לְךָ֛ וּלְבֵיתֶ֑ךָ wə·śā·maḥ·tā ’at·tāh wə·hal·lê·wî wə·hag·gêr ’ă·šer bə·qir·be·ḵā ḇə·ḵāl- haṭ·ṭō·wḇ ’ă·šer Yah·weh ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā nā·ṯan- lə·ḵā ū·lə·ḇê·ṯe·ḵāWLC · 11

When you have finished laying aside… a tenth of all your produce in the third year, the year of the tithe, you are to give it to the Levite, the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, that they may eat and be filled within your gates.

𐤊𐤉 𐤕𐤊𐤋𐤄 𐤋𐤏𐤔𐤓 𐤀𐤕 𐤌𐤏𐤔𐤓 𐤊𐤋 𐤕𐤁𐤅𐤀𐤕𐤊 𐤄𐤔𐤋𐤉𐤔𐤕 𐤁𐤔𐤍𐤄 𐤔𐤍𐤕 𐤄𐤌𐤏𐤔𐤓 𐤅𐤍𐤕𐤕𐤄 𐤋𐤋𐤅𐤉 𐤋𐤂𐤓 𐤋𐤉𐤕𐤅𐤌 𐤅𐤋𐤀𐤋𐤌𐤍𐤄 𐤅𐤀𐤊𐤋𐤅 𐤅𐤔𐤁𐤏𐤅 𐤁𐤔𐤏𐤓𐤉𐤊

כִּ֣י תְכַלֶּ֞ה לַ֠עְשֵׂר אֶת־ מַעְשַׂ֧ר כָּל־ תְּבוּאָתְךָ֛ הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֖ת בַּשָּׁנָ֥ה שְׁנַ֣ת הַֽמַּעֲשֵׂ֑ר וְנָתַתָּ֣ה לַלֵּוִ֗י לַגֵּר֙ לַיָּת֣וֹם וְלָֽאַלְמָנָ֔ה וְאָכְל֥וּ וְשָׂבֵֽעוּ׃ בִשְׁעָרֶ֖יךָ kî ṯə·ḵal·leh la‘·śêr ’eṯ- ma‘·śar kāl- tə·ḇū·’ā·ṯə·ḵā haš·šə·lî·šiṯ baš·šā·nāh šə·naṯ ham·ma·‘ă·śêr wə·nā·ṯat·tāh lal·lê·wî lag·gêr lay·yā·ṯō·wm wə·lā·’al·mā·nāh wə·’ā·ḵə·lū wə·śā·ḇê·‘ū ḇiš·‘ā·re·ḵāWLC · 12

Then you shall declare in the presence of the LORD your God, “I have removed from [my] house the sacred [portion] and have given it to the Levite, the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, according to all the commandments You have given me. I have not transgressed or forgotten Your commandments…

𐤅𐤀𐤌𐤓𐤕 𐤋𐤐𐤍𐤉 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤊 𐤁𐤏𐤓𐤕𐤉 𐤌𐤍 𐤄𐤁𐤉𐤕 𐤄𐤒𐤃𐤔 𐤅𐤂𐤌 𐤍𐤕𐤕𐤉𐤅 𐤋𐤋𐤅𐤉 𐤅𐤋𐤂𐤓 𐤋𐤉𐤕𐤅𐤌 𐤅𐤋𐤀𐤋𐤌𐤍𐤄 𐤊𐤊𐤋 𐤌𐤑𐤅𐤕𐤊 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤑𐤅𐤉𐤕𐤍𐤉 𐤋𐤀 𐤏𐤁𐤓𐤕𐤉 𐤔𐤊𐤇𐤕𐤉 𐤌𐤌𐤑𐤅𐤕𐤉𐤊 𐤅𐤋𐤀

וְאָמַרְתָּ֡ לִפְנֵי֩ יְהוָ֨ה אֱלֹהֶ֜יךָ בִּעַ֧רְתִּי מִן־ הַבַּ֗יִת הַקֹּ֣דֶשׁ וְגַ֨ם נְתַתִּ֤יו לַלֵּוִי֙ וְלַגֵּר֙ לַיָּת֣וֹם וְלָאַלְמָנָ֔ה כְּכָל־ מִצְוָתְךָ֖ אֲשֶׁ֣ר צִוִּיתָ֑נִי לֹֽא־ עָבַ֥רְתִּי שָׁכָֽחְתִּי׃ מִמִּצְוֺתֶ֖יךָ וְלֹ֥א wə·’ā·mar·tā lip̄·nê Yah·weh ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā bi·‘ar·tî min- hab·ba·yiṯ haq·qō·ḏeš wə·ḡam nə·ṯat·tîw lal·lê·wî wə·lag·gêr lay·yā·ṯō·wm wə·lā·’al·mā·nāh kə·ḵāl- miṣ·wā·ṯə·ḵā ’ă·šer ṣiw·wî·ṯā·nî lō- ‘ā·ḇar·tî šā·ḵā·ḥə·tî mim·miṣ·wō·ṯe·ḵā wə·lōWLC · 13

14

I have not eaten any of [the sacred portion]… while in mourning, or removed any of it while unclean,… or offered any of it for the dead. I have obeyed… the LORD my God; I have done everything You commanded me.

𐤋𐤀 𐤀𐤊𐤋𐤕𐤉 𐤌𐤌𐤍𐤅 𐤅𐤋𐤀 𐤁𐤀𐤍𐤉 𐤁𐤏𐤓𐤕𐤉 𐤌𐤌𐤍𐤅 𐤁𐤈𐤌𐤀 𐤅𐤋𐤀 𐤍𐤕𐤕𐤉 𐤌𐤌𐤍𐤅 𐤋𐤌𐤕 𐤔𐤌𐤏𐤕𐤉 𐤁𐤒𐤅𐤋 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉 𐤏𐤔𐤉𐤕𐤉 𐤊𐤊𐤋 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤑𐤅𐤉𐤕𐤍𐤉

לֹא־ אָכַ֨לְתִּי מִמֶּ֗נּוּ וְלֹא־ בְאֹנִ֜י בִעַ֤רְתִּי מִמֶּ֙נּוּ֙ בְּטָמֵ֔א וְלֹא־ נָתַ֥תִּי מִמֶּ֖נּוּ לְמֵ֑ת שָׁמַ֗עְתִּי בְּקוֹל֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהָ֔י עָשִׂ֕יתִי כְּכֹ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוִּיתָֽנִי׃ lō- ’ā·ḵal·tî mim·men·nū wə·lō- ḇə·’ō·nî ḇi·‘ar·tî mim·men·nū bə·ṭā·mê wə·lō- nā·ṯat·tî mim·men·nū lə·mêṯ šā·ma‘·tî bə·qō·wl Yah·weh ’ĕ·lō·hāy ‘ā·śî·ṯî kə·ḵōl ’ă·šer ṣiw·wî·ṯā·nîWLC · 14

Look down from Your holy habitation, from heaven, and bless Your people Israel and the land You have given us as You swore to our fathers— a land flowing with milk and honey.”

Obey the LORD’s Commands

The LORD your God commands you this day to follow these statutes and ordinances. You must be careful to follow them with all your heart and with all your soul.

יְהוָ֨ה אֱלֹהֶ֜יךָ מְצַוְּךָ֧ הַזֶּ֗ה הַיּ֣וֹם לַעֲשׂ֛וֹת אֶת־ הָאֵ֖לֶּה וְאֶת־ הַחֻקִּ֥ים הַמִּשְׁפָּטִ֑ים וְשָׁמַרְתָּ֤ וְעָשִׂ֙יתָ֙ אוֹתָ֔ם בְּכָל־ לְבָבְךָ֖ וּבְכָל־ נַפְשֶֽׁךָ׃ Yah·weh ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā mə·ṣaw·wə·ḵā haz·zeh hay·yō·wm la·‘ă·śō·wṯ ’eṯ- hā·’êl·leh wə·’eṯ- ha·ḥuq·qîm ham·miš·pā·ṭîm wə·šā·mar·tā wə·‘ā·śî·ṯā ’ō·w·ṯām bə·ḵāl lə·ḇā·ḇə·ḵā ū·ḇə·ḵāl nap̄·še·ḵāWLC · 16

  • Today you have proclaimed that the LORD is your God and that you will walk in His ways, keep His statutes and commandments and ordinances, and listen to His voice.

And today the LORD has proclaimed that you are His people [and] treasured possession as He promised that you are to keep all His commandments,

𐤄𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤅𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤄𐤀𐤌𐤉𐤓𐤊 𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤅𐤕 𐤋𐤅 𐤋𐤏𐤌 𐤎𐤂𐤋𐤄 𐤊𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤃𐤁𐤓 𐤋𐤊 𐤅𐤋𐤔𐤌𐤓 𐤊𐤋 𐤌𐤑𐤅𐤕𐤉𐤅

הַיּ֗וֹם וַֽיהוָ֞ה הֶאֱמִֽירְךָ֣ לִהְי֥וֹת לוֹ֙ לְעַ֣ם סְגֻלָּ֔ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר דִּבֶּר־ לָ֑ךְ וְלִשְׁמֹ֖ר כָּל־ מִצְוֺתָֽיו׃ hay·yō·wm Yah·weh he·’ĕ·mî·rə·ḵā lih·yō·wṯ lōw lə·‘am sə·ḡul·lāh ka·’ă·šer dib·ber- lāḵ wə·liš·mōr kāl- miṣ·wō·ṯāwWLC · 18

that He will set you high in praise and name and honor above all the nations He has made, and that you will be a holy people to the LORD your God, as He has promised.
