Chapter 17

The Ravens Feed Elijah

1

Now Elijah the Tishbite, who was among the settlers of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As surely as the LORD, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there will be neither dew nor rain in these years except… at my word!”

אֵלִיָּ֨הוּ הַתִּשְׁבִּ֜י מִתֹּשָׁבֵ֣י גִלְעָד֮ וַיֹּאמֶר֩ אֶל־ אַחְאָב֒ יְהוָ֞ה אֱלֹהֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ חַי־ אֲשֶׁ֣ר לְפָנָ֔יו עָמַ֣דְתִּי יִהְיֶ֛ה אִם־ טַ֣ל וּמָטָ֑ר הָאֵ֖לֶּה הַשָּׁנִ֥ים כִּ֖י אִם־ לְפִ֥י דְבָרִֽי׃ס ’ê·lî·yā·hū hat·tiš·bî mit·tō·šā·ḇê ḡil·‘āḏ way·yō·mer ’el- ’aḥ·’āḇ Yah·weh ’ĕ·lō·hê yiś·rā·’êl ḥay- ’ă·šer lə·p̄ā·nāw ‘ā·maḏ·tî yih·yeh ’im- ṭal ū·mā·ṭār hā·’êl·leh haš·šā·nîm kî ’im- lə·p̄î ḏə·ḇā·rîWLC · 1

Then a revelation from the LORD came to [Elijah]…:

𐤃𐤁𐤓 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤅𐤉𐤄𐤉 𐤀𐤋𐤉𐤅 𐤋𐤀𐤌𐤓

דְבַר־ יְהוָ֖ה וַיְהִ֥י אֵלָ֥יו לֵאמֹֽר׃ ḏə·ḇar- Yah·weh way·hî ’ê·lāw lê·mōrWLC · 2

“Leave here, turn eastward, and hide yourself by the Brook of Cherith, east of… the Jordan.

𐤋𐤊 𐤌𐤆𐤄 𐤅𐤐𐤍𐤉𐤕 𐤋𐤊 𐤒𐤃𐤌𐤄 𐤅𐤍𐤎𐤕𐤓𐤕 𐤁𐤍𐤇𐤋 𐤊𐤓𐤉𐤕 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤏𐤋 𐤐𐤍𐤉 𐤄𐤉𐤓𐤃𐤍

לֵ֣ךְ מִזֶּ֔ה וּפָנִ֥יתָ לְּךָ֖ קֵ֑דְמָה וְנִסְתַּרְתָּ֙ בְּנַ֣חַל כְּרִ֔ית אֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל־ פְּנֵ֥י הַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃ lêḵ miz·zeh ū·p̄ā·nî·ṯā lə·ḵā qê·ḏə·māh wə·nis·tar·tā bə·na·ḥal kə·rîṯ ’ă·šer ‘al- pə·nê hay·yar·dênWLC · 3

And you are to drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.”

וְהָיָ֖ה תִּשְׁתֶּ֑ה וְאֶת־ מֵהַנַּ֣חַל צִוִּ֔יתִי הָעֹרְבִ֣ים לְכַלְכֶּלְךָ֖ שָֽׁם׃ wə·hā·yāh tiš·teh wə·’eṯ- mê·han·na·ḥal ṣiw·wî·ṯî hā·‘ō·rə·ḇîm lə·ḵal·kel·ḵā šāmWLC · 4

So [Elijah] did what the LORD… had told him, and he went and lived by the Brook of Cherith, east of… the Jordan.

וַיַּ֖עַשׂ יְהוָ֑ה וַיֵּ֗לֶךְ כִּדְבַ֣ר וַיֵּ֥לֶךְ וַיֵּ֙שֶׁב֙ בְּנַ֣חַל כְּרִ֔ית אֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל־ פְּנֵ֥י הַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃ way·ya·‘aś Yah·weh way·yê·leḵ kiḏ·ḇar way·yê·leḵ way·yê·šeḇ bə·na·ḥal kə·rîṯ ’ă·šer ‘al- pə·nê hay·yar·dênWLC · 5

The ravens would bring him bread and meat in the morning… and evening, and he would drink from the brook.

וְהָעֹרְבִ֗ים מְבִיאִ֨ים ל֜וֹ לֶ֤חֶם וּבָשָׂר֙ בַּבֹּ֔קֶר וְלֶ֥חֶם וּבָשָׂ֖ר בָּעָ֑רֶב יִשְׁתֶּֽה׃ וּמִן־ הַנַּ֖חַל wə·hā·‘ō·rə·ḇîm mə·ḇî·’îm lōw le·ḥem ū·ḇā·śār bab·bō·qer wə·le·ḥem ū·ḇā·śār bā·‘ā·reḇ yiš·teh ū·min- han·na·ḥalWLC · 6

Some time later, however…, the brook dried up because there had been no rain in the land.

The Widow of Zarephath

Then the word of the LORD came to [Elijah]…:

דְבַר־ יְהוָ֖ה וַיְהִ֥י אֵלָ֥יו לֵאמֹֽר׃ ḏə·ḇar- Yah·weh way·hî ’ê·lāw lê·mōrWLC · 8

“Get up [and] go to Zarephath of Sidon, and stay there. Behold, I have commanded vvv a widow there to provide for you.”

ק֣וּם לֵ֤ךְ צָרְפַ֙תָה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר לְצִיד֔וֹן וְיָשַׁבְתָּ֖ שָׁ֑ם הִנֵּ֨ה צִוִּ֥יתִי אִשָּׁ֥ה אַלְמָנָ֖ה שָׁ֛ם לְכַלְכְּלֶֽךָ׃ qūm lêḵ ṣā·rə·p̄a·ṯāh ’ă·šer lə·ṣî·ḏō·wn wə·yā·šaḇ·tā šām hin·nêh ṣiw·wî·ṯî ’iš·šāh ’al·mā·nāh šām lə·ḵal·kə·le·ḵāWLC · 9

So Elijah got up and went to Zarephath. When he arrived at the city… gate, there was a widow… gathering sticks. Elijah called to her and said, “Please bring me a little water in a cup, so that I may drink.”

𐤅𐤉𐤒𐤌 𐤅𐤉𐤋𐤊 𐤑𐤓𐤐𐤕𐤄 𐤅𐤉𐤁𐤀 𐤀𐤋 𐤄𐤏𐤉𐤓 𐤅𐤄𐤍𐤄 𐤐𐤕𐤇 𐤔𐤌 𐤀𐤋𐤌𐤍𐤄 𐤀𐤔𐤄 𐤌𐤒𐤔𐤔𐤕 𐤏𐤑𐤉𐤌 𐤅𐤉𐤒𐤓𐤀 𐤀𐤋𐤉𐤄 𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 𐤍𐤀 𐤒𐤇𐤉 𐤋𐤉 𐤌𐤏𐤈 𐤌𐤉𐤌 𐤁𐤊𐤋𐤉 𐤅𐤀𐤔𐤕𐤄

וַיָּ֣קָם׀ וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ צָרְפַ֗תָה וַיָּבֹא֙ אֶל־ הָעִ֔יר וְהִנֵּֽה־ פֶּ֣תַח שָׁ֛ם אַלְמָנָ֖ה אִשָּׁ֥ה מְקֹשֶׁ֣שֶׁת עֵצִ֑ים וַיִּקְרָ֤א אֵלֶ֙יהָ֙ וַיֹּאמַ֔ר נָ֨א קְחִי־ לִ֧י מְעַט־ מַ֛יִם בַּכְּלִ֖י וְאֶשְׁתֶּֽה׃ way·yā·qām way·yê·leḵ ṣā·rə·p̄a·ṯāh way·yā·ḇō ’el- hā·‘îr wə·hin·nêh- pe·ṯaḥ šām ’al·mā·nāh ’iš·šāh mə·qō·še·šeṯ ‘ê·ṣîm way·yiq·rā ’ê·le·hā way·yō·mar nā qə·ḥî- lî mə·‘aṭ- ma·yim bak·kə·lî wə·’eš·tehWLC · 10

And as she was going to get [it], he called to her and said, “Please bring me a piece of bread -.”

𐤅𐤕𐤋𐤊 𐤋𐤒𐤇𐤕 𐤅𐤉𐤒𐤓𐤀 𐤀𐤋𐤉𐤄 𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 𐤍𐤀 𐤋𐤒𐤇𐤉 𐤋𐤉 𐤐𐤕 𐤋𐤇𐤌 𐤁𐤉𐤃𐤊

וַתֵּ֖לֶךְ לָקַ֑חַת וַיִּקְרָ֤א אֵלֶ֙יהָ֙ וַיֹּאמַ֔ר נָ֥א לִֽקְחִי־ לִ֛י פַּת־ לֶ֖חֶם בְּיָדֵֽךְ׃ wat·tê·leḵ lā·qa·ḥaṯ way·yiq·rā ’ê·le·hā way·yō·mar nā liq·ḥî- lî paṯ- le·ḥem bə·yā·ḏêḵWLC · 11

But she replied, “As surely as the LORD your God lives, I have no bread— only… a handful… of flour in a jar and a little oil in a jug. Look, I am gathering a couple of sticks to take home and prepare [a meal] for myself and my son, so that we may eat it and die.”

𐤅𐤕𐤀𐤌𐤓 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤊 𐤇𐤉 𐤋𐤉 𐤉𐤔 𐤀𐤌 𐤌𐤏𐤅𐤂 𐤊𐤉 𐤀𐤌 𐤌𐤋𐤀 𐤊𐤐 𐤒𐤌𐤇 𐤁𐤊𐤃 𐤅𐤌𐤏𐤈 𐤔𐤌𐤍 𐤁𐤑𐤐𐤇𐤕 𐤅𐤄𐤍𐤍𐤉 𐤌𐤒𐤔𐤔𐤕 𐤔𐤍𐤉𐤌 𐤏𐤑𐤉𐤌 𐤅𐤁𐤀𐤕𐤉 𐤅𐤏𐤔𐤉𐤕𐤉𐤄𐤅 𐤋𐤉 𐤅𐤋𐤁𐤍𐤉 𐤅𐤀𐤊𐤋𐤍𐤄𐤅 𐤅𐤌𐤕𐤍𐤅

וַתֹּ֗אמֶר יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙ חַי־ לִ֣י יֶשׁ־ אִם־ מָע֔וֹג כִּ֣י אִם־ מְלֹ֤א כַף־ קֶ֙מַח֙ בַּכַּ֔ד וּמְעַט־ שֶׁ֖מֶן בַּצַּפָּ֑חַת וְהִנְנִ֨י מְקֹשֶׁ֜שֶׁת שְׁנַ֣יִם עֵצִ֗ים וּבָ֙אתִי֙ וַעֲשִׂיתִ֙יהוּ֙ לִ֣י וְלִבְנִ֔י וַאֲכַלְנֻ֖הוּ וָמָֽתְנוּ׃ wat·tō·mer Yah·weh ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā ḥay- lî yeš- ’im- mā·‘ō·wḡ kî ’im- mə·lō ḵap̄- qe·maḥ bak·kaḏ ū·mə·‘aṭ- še·men baṣ·ṣap·pā·ḥaṯ wə·hin·nî mə·qō·še·šeṯ šə·na·yim ‘ê·ṣîm ū·ḇā·ṯî wa·‘ă·śî·ṯî·hū lî wə·liḇ·nî wa·’ă·ḵal·nu·hū wā·mā·ṯə·nūWLC · 12

“Do not be afraid,” Elijah said to her. “Go and do as you have said. But first make me a small cake of bread from [what you have], and bring it out to me. Afterward, make [some] for yourself and your son,

𐤀𐤋 𐤕𐤉𐤓𐤀𐤉 𐤀𐤋𐤉𐤄𐤅 𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 𐤀𐤋𐤉𐤄 𐤁𐤀𐤉 𐤏𐤔𐤉 𐤊𐤃𐤁𐤓𐤊 𐤀𐤊 𐤁𐤓𐤀𐤔𐤍𐤄 𐤏𐤔𐤉 𐤋𐤉 𐤒𐤈𐤍𐤄 𐤏𐤂𐤄 𐤌𐤔𐤌 𐤅𐤄𐤅𐤑𐤀𐤕 𐤋𐤉 𐤁𐤀𐤇𐤓𐤍𐤄𐤎 𐤕𐤏𐤔𐤉 𐤅𐤋𐤊 𐤅𐤋𐤁𐤍𐤊

אַל־ תִּ֣ירְאִ֔י אֵלִיָּ֙הוּ֙ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֵלֶ֤יהָ בֹּ֖אִי עֲשִׂ֣י כִדְבָרֵ֑ךְ אַ֣ךְ בָרִאשֹׁנָה֙ עֲשִׂי־ לִ֣י קְטַנָּ֤ה עֻגָ֨ה מִ֠שָּׁם וְהוֹצֵ֣אתְ לִ֔י בָּאַחֲרֹנָֽה׃ס תַּעֲשִׂ֖י וְלָ֣ךְ וְלִבְנֵ֔ךְ ’al- tî·rə·’î ’ê·lî·yā·hū way·yō·mer ’ê·le·hā bō·’î ‘ă·śî ḵiḏ·ḇā·rêḵ ’aḵ ḇā·ri·šō·nāh ‘ă·śî- lî qə·ṭan·nāh ‘u·ḡāh miš·šām wə·hō·ṣēṯ lî bā·’a·ḥă·rō·nāh ta·‘ă·śî wə·lāḵ wə·liḇ·nêḵWLC · 13

for this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘The jar of flour will not be exhausted and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the LORD sends rain upon the face of the earth.’”

𐤊𐤉 𐤊𐤄 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉 𐤉𐤔𐤓𐤀𐤋 𐤀𐤌𐤓 𐤊𐤃 𐤄𐤒𐤌𐤇 𐤋𐤀 𐤕𐤊𐤋𐤄 𐤅𐤑𐤐𐤇𐤕 𐤄𐤔𐤌𐤍 𐤋𐤀 𐤕𐤇𐤎𐤓 𐤏𐤃 𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤕𐤕𐤍 𐤂𐤔𐤌 𐤏𐤋 𐤐𐤍𐤉 𐤄𐤀𐤃𐤌𐤄

כִּ֣י כֹה֩ יְהוָ֜ה אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל אָמַ֨ר כַּ֤ד הַקֶּ֙מַח֙ לֹ֣א תִכְלָ֔ה וְצַפַּ֥חַת הַשֶּׁ֖מֶן לֹ֣א תֶחְסָ֑ר עַ֠ד י֧וֹם יְהוָ֛ה תִּתֶּן גֶּ֖שֶׁם עַל־ פְּנֵ֥י הָאֲדָמָֽה׃ kî ḵōh Yah·weh ’ĕ·lō·hê yiś·rā·’êl ’ā·mar kaḏ haq·qe·maḥ lō ṯiḵ·lāh wə·ṣap·pa·ḥaṯ haš·še·men lō ṯeḥ·sār ‘aḏ yō·wm ha·šêm tit·tɛn ge·šem ‘al- pə·nê hā·’ă·ḏā·māhWLC · 14

So she went and did according to the word of Elijah, and there was food every day for Elijah and the woman and her household.

𐤅𐤕𐤋𐤊 𐤅𐤕𐤏𐤔𐤄 𐤊𐤃𐤁𐤓 𐤀𐤋𐤉𐤄𐤅 𐤅𐤕𐤀𐤊𐤋 𐤉𐤌𐤉𐤌 𐤅𐤄𐤉𐤀 𐤄𐤅𐤀 𐤅𐤁𐤉𐤕𐤄

וַתֵּ֥לֶךְ וַתַּעֲשֶׂ֖ה כִּדְבַ֣ר אֵלִיָּ֑הוּ וַתֹּ֧אכַל יָמִֽים׃ וָהִיא הוּא־ וּבֵיתָ֖הּ wat·tê·leḵ wat·ta·‘ă·śeh kiḏ·ḇar ’ê·lî·yā·hū wat·tō·ḵal yā·mîm wå̄·hī hū- ū·ḇê·ṯāhWLC · 15

The jar of flour was not exhausted and the jug of oil did not run dry, according to the word that the LORD had spoken through Elijah.

𐤊𐤃 𐤄𐤒𐤌𐤇 𐤋𐤀 𐤊𐤋𐤕𐤄 𐤅𐤑𐤐𐤇𐤕 𐤄𐤔𐤌𐤍 𐤋𐤀 𐤇𐤎𐤓 𐤊𐤃𐤁𐤓 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤃𐤁𐤓 𐤁𐤉𐤃 𐤀𐤋𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤐

כַּ֤ד הַקֶּ֙מַח֙ לֹ֣א כָלָ֔תָה וְצַפַּ֥חַת הַשֶּׁ֖מֶן לֹ֣א חָסֵ֑ר כִּדְבַ֣ר אֲשֶׁ֥ר יְהוָ֔ה דִּבֶּ֖ר בְּיַ֥ד אֵלִיָּֽהוּ׃פ kaḏ haq·qe·maḥ lō ḵā·lā·ṯāh wə·ṣap·pa·ḥaṯ haš·še·men lō ḥā·sêr kiḏ·ḇar ’ă·šer Yah·weh dib·ber bə·yaḏ ’ê·lî·yā·hūWLC · 16

Elijah Raises the Widow’s Son

Later…, the son of the woman who owned the house… became ill, and his sickness grew worse and worse, until no breath remained in him.

𐤅𐤉𐤄𐤉 𐤀𐤇𐤓 𐤄𐤃𐤁𐤓𐤉𐤌 𐤄𐤀𐤋𐤄 𐤁𐤍 𐤄𐤀𐤔𐤄 𐤁𐤏𐤋𐤕 𐤄𐤁𐤉𐤕 𐤅𐤉𐤄𐤉 𐤇𐤋𐤄 𐤇𐤋𐤉𐤅 𐤇𐤆𐤒 𐤌𐤀𐤃 𐤏𐤃 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤋𐤀 𐤍𐤔𐤌𐤄 𐤍𐤅𐤕𐤓𐤄 𐤁𐤅

וַיְהִ֗י אַחַר֙ הַדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה בֶּן־ הָאִשָּׁ֖ה בַּעֲלַ֣ת הַבָּ֑יִת וַיְהִ֤י חָלָ֕ה חָלְיוֹ֙ חָזָ֣ק מְאֹ֔ד עַ֛ד אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא־ נְשָׁמָֽה׃ נֽוֹתְרָה־ בּ֖וֹ way·hî ’a·ḥar had·də·ḇā·rîm hā·’êl·leh ben- hā·’iš·šāh ba·‘ă·laṯ hab·bā·yiṯ way·hî ḥā·lāh ḥā·lə·yōw ḥā·zāq mə·’ōḏ ‘aḏ ’ă·šer lō- nə·šā·māh nō·wṯ·rāh- bōwWLC · 17

“O man of God,” said [the woman] to Elijah, “what have you done to me? Have you come… to remind me of my iniquity and cause the death of my son?”

But Elijah said to her, “Give me your son.” So he took him from her arms, carried him to the upper room where he was staying,… and laid him on his own bed.

וַיֹּ֥אמֶר אֵלֶ֖יהָ תְּנִֽי־ לִ֣י אֶת־ בְּנֵ֑ךְ וַיִּקָּחֵ֣הוּ מֵחֵיקָ֗הּ וַֽיַּעֲלֵ֙הוּ֙ אֶל־ הָעֲלִיָּ֗ה אֲשֶׁר־ הוּא֙ יֹשֵׁ֣ב שָׁ֔ם וַיַּשְׁכִּבֵ֖הוּ עַל־ מִטָּתֽוֹ׃ way·yō·mer ’ê·le·hā tə·nî- lî ’eṯ- bə·nêḵ way·yiq·qā·ḥê·hū mê·ḥê·qāh way·ya·‘ă·lê·hū ’el- hā·‘ă·lî·yāh ’ă·šer- hū yō·šêḇ šām way·yaš·ki·ḇê·hū ‘al- miṭ·ṭā·ṯōwWLC · 19

Then he cried out to the LORD “O LORD my God, have You also brought tragedy on this widow vvv who has opened her home to me…, by causing her son {to die}?”

וַיִּקְרָ֥א אֶל־ יְהוָ֖ה וַיֹּאמַ֑ר יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהָ֔י הֲ֠גַם הֲרֵע֖וֹתָ עַל־ הָאַלְמָנָ֞ה אֲשֶׁר־ אֲנִ֨י מִתְגּוֹרֵ֥ר עִמָּ֛הּ לְהָמִ֥ית אֶת־ בְּנָֽהּ׃ way·yiq·rā ’el- Yah·weh way·yō·mar Yah·weh ’ĕ·lō·hāy hă·ḡam hă·rê·‘ō·w·ṯā ‘al- hā·’al·mā·nāh ’ă·šer- ’ă·nî miṯ·gō·w·rêr ‘im·māh lə·hā·mîṯ ’eṯ- bə·nāhWLC · 20

Then he stretched himself out over the child three times and cried out to the LORD -, “O LORD my God, please let this boy’s life return to him!”

𐤅𐤉𐤕𐤌𐤃𐤃 𐤏𐤋 𐤄𐤉𐤋𐤃 𐤔𐤋𐤔 𐤐𐤏𐤌𐤉𐤌 𐤅𐤉𐤒𐤓𐤀 𐤀𐤋 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉 𐤍𐤀 𐤄𐤆𐤄 𐤄𐤉𐤋𐤃 𐤍𐤐𐤔 𐤕𐤔𐤁 𐤏𐤋 𐤒𐤓𐤁𐤅

וַיִּתְמֹדֵ֤ד עַל־ הַיֶּ֙לֶד֙ שָׁלֹ֣שׁ פְּעָמִ֔ים וַיִּקְרָ֥א אֶל־ יְהוָ֖ה וַיֹּאמַ֑ר יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהָ֔י נָ֛א הַזֶּ֖ה הַיֶּ֥לֶד נֶֽפֶשׁ־ תָּ֥שָׁב עַל־ קִרְבּֽוֹ׃ way·yiṯ·mō·ḏêḏ ‘al- hay·ye·leḏ šā·lōš pə·‘ā·mîm way·yiq·rā ’el- Yah·weh way·yō·mar Yah·weh ’ĕ·lō·hāy nā haz·zeh hay·ye·leḏ ne·p̄eš- tā·šāḇ ‘al- qir·bōwWLC · 21

And the LORD listened to the voice of Elijah, and the child’s life returned to him, and he lived.

יְהוָ֖ה וַיִּשְׁמַ֥ע בְּק֣וֹל אֵלִיָּ֑הוּ הַיֶּ֛לֶד נֶֽפֶשׁ־ וַתָּ֧שָׁב עַל־ קִרְבּ֖וֹ וַיֶּֽחִי׃ Yah·weh way·yiš·ma‘ bə·qō·wl ’ê·lî·yā·hū hay·ye·leḏ ne·p̄eš- wat·tā·šāḇ ‘al- qir·bōw way·ye·ḥîWLC · 22

Then Elijah took the child, brought him down from the upper room into the house, and gave him to his mother. “Look, your son is alive,” Elijah declared.

אֵלִיָּ֜הוּ אֶת־ וַיִּקַּ֨ח הַיֶּ֗לֶד וַיֹּרִדֵ֤הוּ מִן־ הָעֲלִיָּה֙ הַבַּ֔יְתָה וַֽיִּתְּנֵ֖הוּ לְאִמּ֑וֹ רְאִ֖י בְּנֵֽךְ׃ חַ֥י אֵ֣לִיָּ֔הוּ וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ ’ê·lî·yā·hū ’eṯ- way·yiq·qaḥ hay·ye·leḏ way·yō·ri·ḏê·hū min- hā·‘ă·lî·yāh hab·bay·ṯāh way·yit·tə·nê·hū lə·’im·mōw rə·’î bə·nêḵ ḥay ’ê·lî·yā·hū way·yō·merWLC · 23

Then the woman said to Elijah, “Now… I know that you are a man of God and that the word of the LORD from your mouth is truth.”
