The Earth Is the LORD’s

A Psalm of David. 1The earth [is] the LORD’s, and the fullness thereof, the world and all who dwell therein.

מִ֫זְמ֥וֹר לְדָוִ֗ד הָאָ֣רֶץ לַֽ֭יהוָה וּמְלוֹאָ֑הּ תֵּ֝בֵ֗ל וְיֹ֣שְׁבֵי בָֽהּ׃ miz·mō·wr lə·ḏā·wiḏ hā·’ā·reṣ Yah·weh ū·mə·lō·w·’āh tê·ḇêl wə·yō·šə·ḇê ḇāh — WLC · 1

For He has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters.

כִּי־ ה֭וּא יְסָדָ֑הּ עַל־ יַמִּ֣ים יְכוֹנְנֶֽהָ׃ וְעַל־ נְ֝הָר֗וֹת kî- hū yə·sā·ḏāh ‘al- yam·mîm yə·ḵō·wn·ne·hā wə·‘al- nə·hā·rō·wṯ — WLC · 2

Who may ascend the hill of the LORD? Who may stand in His holy place?
𐤌𐤉 𐤉𐤏𐤋𐤄 𐤁𐤄𐤓 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤅𐤌𐤉 𐤉𐤒𐤅𐤌 𐤒𐤃𐤔𐤅 𐤁𐤌𐤒𐤅𐤌
מִֽי־ יַעֲלֶ֥ה בְהַר־ יְהוָ֑ה וּמִי־ יָ֝קוּם קָדְשֽׁוֹ׃ בִּמְק֥וֹם mî- ya·‘ă·leh ḇə·har- Yah·weh ū·mî- yā·qūm qā·ḏə·šōw bim·qō·wm — WLC · 3

He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear deceitfully.
𐤍𐤒𐤉 𐤊𐤐𐤉𐤌 𐤅𐤁𐤓 𐤋𐤁𐤁 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤋𐤀 𐤍𐤔𐤀 𐤍𐤐𐤔𐤉 𐤋𐤔𐤅𐤀 𐤅𐤋𐤀 𐤍𐤔𐤁𐤏 𐤋𐤌𐤓𐤌𐤄
נְקִ֥י כַפַּ֗יִם וּֽבַר־ לֵ֫בָ֥ב אֲשֶׁ֤ר׀ לֹא־ נָשָׂ֣א נַפְשִׁ֑י לַשָּׁ֣וְא וְלֹ֖א נִשְׁבַּ֣ע לְמִרְמָֽה׃ nə·qî ḵap·pa·yim ū·ḇar- lê·ḇāḇ ’ă·šer lō- nā·śā nap̄·šî laš·šāw wə·lō niš·ba‘ lə·mir·māh — WLC · 4

He will receive blessing from the LORD and vindication from the God of his salvation.

יִשָּׂ֣א בְ֭רָכָה מֵאֵ֣ת יְהוָ֑ה וּ֝צְדָקָ֗ה מֵאֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׁעֽוֹ׃ yiś·śā ḇə·rā·ḵāh mê·’êṯ Yah·weh ū·ṣə·ḏā·qāh mê·’ĕ·lō·hê yiš·‘ōw — WLC · 5

Such is the generation of those who seek Him, who seek Your face, [O God] of Jacob. Selah

זֶ֭ה דּ֣וֹר דֹּרְשׁוֹ מְבַקְשֵׁ֨י פָנֶ֖יךָ יַעֲקֹ֣ב סֶֽלָה׃ zeh dō·wr dō·rə·šō mə·ḇaq·šê p̄ā·ne·ḵā ya·‘ă·qōḇ se·lāh — WLC · 6

Lift up your heads, O gates! Be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of Glory may enter!

שְׂא֤וּ רָֽאשֵׁיכֶ֗ם שְׁעָרִ֨ים׀ וְֽ֭הִנָּשְׂאוּ עוֹלָ֑ם פִּתְחֵ֣י מֶ֣לֶךְ הַכָּבֽוֹד׃ וְ֝יָב֗וֹא śə·’ū rā·šê·ḵem šə·‘ā·rîm wə·hin·nā·śə·’ū ‘ō·w·lām piṯ·ḥê me·leḵ hak·kā·ḇō·wḏ wə·yā·ḇō·w — WLC · 7

Who is this King of Glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.

Who is He, this King of Glory? The LORD of Hosts— He is the King of Glory. Selah
