Ascribe Glory to the LORD

A Psalm of David. 1Ascribe to the LORD, O heavenly beings…, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.

Ascribe to the LORD the glory due His name; worship the LORD in the splendor of His holiness.

The voice of the LORD is over the waters; the God of glory thunders; the LORD [is heard] over many waters.

ק֥וֹל יְהוָ֗ה עַל־ הַ֫מָּ֥יִם אֵֽל־ הַכָּב֥וֹד הִרְעִ֑ים יְ֝הוָ֗ה עַל־ רַבִּֽים׃ מַ֥יִם qō·wl Yah·weh ‘al- ham·mā·yim ’êl- hak·kā·ḇō·wḏ hir·‘îm Yah·weh ‘al- rab·bîm ma·yim — WLC · 3

The voice of the LORD [is] powerful; the voice of the LORD [is] majestic.

The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars; the LORD shatters the cedars of Lebanon.

ק֣וֹל יְ֭הוָה שֹׁבֵ֣ר אֲרָזִ֑ים יְ֝הוָ֗ה אֶת־ וַיְשַׁבֵּ֥ר אַרְזֵ֥י הַלְּבָנֽוֹן׃ qō·wl Yah·weh šō·ḇêr ’ă·rā·zîm Yah·weh ’eṯ- way·šab·bêr ’ar·zê hal·lə·ḇā·nō·wn — WLC · 5

He makes Lebanon skip like a calf, and Sirion like a young wild ox.

לְבָנ֥וֹן וַיַּרְקִידֵ֥ם כְּמוֹ־ עֵ֑גֶל וְ֝שִׂרְיֹ֗ן כְּמ֣וֹ בֶן־ רְאֵמִֽים׃ lə·ḇā·nō·wn way·yar·qî·ḏêm kə·mōw- ‘ê·ḡel wə·śir·yōn kə·mōw ḇen- rə·’ê·mîm — WLC · 6

The voice of the LORD strikes with flames of fire.

The voice of the LORD shakes the wilderness; the LORD shakes the Wilderness of Kadesh.
𐤒𐤅𐤋 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤉𐤇𐤉𐤋 𐤌𐤃𐤁𐤓 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤉𐤇𐤉𐤋 𐤌𐤃𐤁𐤓 𐤒𐤃𐤔
ק֣וֹל יְ֭הוָה יָחִ֣יל מִדְבָּ֑ר יְ֝הוָ֗ה יָחִ֥יל מִדְבַּ֥ר קָדֵֽשׁ׃ qō·wl Yah·weh yā·ḥîl miḏ·bār Yah·weh yā·ḥîl miḏ·bar qā·ḏêš — WLC · 8

The voice of the LORD twists the oaks and strips the forests bare. And in His temple all cry, “Glory!”

ק֤וֹל יְהוָ֨ה׀ יְחוֹלֵ֣ל אַיָּלוֹת֮ יְעָ֫ר֥וֹת וַֽיֶּחֱשֹׂ֪ף וּבְהֵיכָל֑וֹ כֻּ֝לּ֗וֹ אֹמֵ֥ר כָּבֽוֹד׃ qō·wl Yah·weh yə·ḥō·w·lêl ’ay·yā·lō·wṯ yə·‘ā·rō·wṯ way·ye·ḥĕ·śōp̄ ū·ḇə·hê·ḵā·lōw kul·lōw ’ō·mêr kā·ḇō·wḏ — WLC · 9

The LORD sits enthroned over the flood; the LORD is enthroned as King forever.

יְ֭הוָה יָשָׁ֑ב לַמַּבּ֣וּל יְ֝הוָ֗ה וַיֵּ֥שֶׁב מֶ֣לֶךְ לְעוֹלָֽם׃ Yah·weh yā·šāḇ lam·mab·būl Yah·weh way·yê·šeḇ me·leḵ lə·‘ō·w·lām — WLC · 10

The LORD gives His people strength; the LORD blesses His people with peace.

יְֽהוָ֗ה יִתֵּ֑ן לְעַמּ֣וֹ עֹ֭ז יְהוָ֓ה׀ יְבָרֵ֖ךְ אֶת־ עַמּ֣וֹ בַשָּׁלֽוֹם׃ Yah·weh yit·tên lə·‘am·mōw ‘ōz Yah·weh yə·ḇā·rêḵ ’eṯ- ‘am·mōw ḇaš·šā·lō·wm — WLC · 11
