Make a Joyful Noise

For the choirmaster. A song. A Psalm. 1Make a joyful noise to God, all the earth!

𐤋𐤌𐤍𐤑𐤇 𐤔𐤉𐤓 𐤌𐤆𐤌𐤅𐤓 𐤄𐤓𐤉𐤏𐤅 𐤋𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 𐤊𐤋 𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑

לַ֭מְנַצֵּחַ שִׁ֣יר מִזְמ֑וֹר הָרִ֥יעוּ לֵ֝אלֹהִים כָּל־ הָאָֽרֶץ׃ lam·naṣ·ṣê·aḥ šîr miz·mō·wr hā·rî·‘ū lê·lō·hîm kāl- hā·’ā·reṣWLC · 1

Sing the glory of His name; make His praise glorious.

𐤆𐤌𐤓𐤅 𐤊𐤁𐤅𐤃 𐤔𐤌𐤅 𐤔𐤉𐤌𐤅 𐤕𐤄𐤋𐤕𐤅 𐤊𐤁𐤅𐤃

זַמְּר֥וּ כְבֽוֹד־ שְׁמ֑וֹ שִׂ֥ימוּ תְּהִלָּתֽוֹ׃ כָ֝ב֗וֹד zam·mə·rū ḵə·ḇō·wḏ- šə·mōw śî·mū tə·hil·lā·ṯōw ḵā·ḇō·wḏWLC · 2

Say to God, “How awesome are Your deeds So great is Your power that Your enemies cower before You.

𐤀𐤌𐤓𐤅 𐤋𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 𐤌𐤄 𐤍𐤅𐤓𐤀 𐤌𐤏𐤔𐤉𐤊 𐤋𐤊 𐤁𐤓𐤁 𐤏𐤆𐤊 𐤀𐤉𐤁𐤉𐤊 𐤉𐤊𐤇𐤔𐤅

אִמְר֣וּ לֵ֭אלֹהִים מַה־ נּוֹרָ֣א מַעֲשֶׂ֑יךָ לְךָ֣ בְּרֹ֥ב עֻ֝זְּךָ֗ אֹיְבֶֽיךָ׃ יְֽכַחֲשׁ֖וּ ’im·rū lê·lō·hîm mah- nō·w·rā ma·‘ă·śe·ḵā lə·ḵā bə·rōḇ ‘uz·zə·ḵā ’ō·yə·ḇe·ḵā yə·ḵa·ḥă·šūWLC · 3

All the earth bows down to You; they sing praise to You; they sing praise to Your name.” Selah

כָּל־ הָאָ֤רֶץ׀ יִשְׁתַּחֲו֣וּ לְ֭ךָ וִֽיזַמְּרוּ־ לָ֑ךְ יְזַמְּר֖וּ שִׁמְךָ֣ סֶֽלָה׃ kāl- hā·’ā·reṣ yiš·ta·ḥă·wū lə·ḵā wî·zam·mə·rū- lāḵ yə·zam·mə·rū šim·ḵā se·lāhWLC · 4

Come and see the works of God; how awesome are His deeds toward vvv mankind.

𐤋𐤊𐤅 𐤅𐤓𐤀𐤅 𐤌𐤐𐤏𐤋𐤅𐤕 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 𐤍𐤅𐤓𐤀 𐤏𐤋𐤉𐤋𐤄 𐤏𐤋 𐤁𐤍𐤉 𐤀𐤃𐤌

לְכ֣וּ וּ֭רְאוּ מִפְעֲל֣וֹת אֱלֹהִ֑ים נוֹרָ֥א עֲ֝לִילָ֗ה עַל־ בְּנֵ֥י אָדָֽם׃ lə·ḵū ū·rə·’ū mip̄·‘ă·lō·wṯ ’ĕ·lō·hîm nō·w·rā ‘ă·lî·lāh ‘al- bə·nê ’ā·ḏāmWLC · 5

He turned the sea into dry land; they passed through the waters on foot; there we rejoiced in Him.

𐤄𐤐𐤊 𐤉𐤌 𐤋𐤉𐤁𐤔𐤄 𐤉𐤏𐤁𐤓𐤅 𐤁𐤍𐤄𐤓 𐤁𐤓𐤂𐤋 𐤔𐤌 𐤍𐤔𐤌𐤇𐤄 𐤁𐤅

הָ֤פַךְ יָ֨ם׀ לְֽיַבָּשָׁ֗ה יַֽעַבְר֣וּ בַּ֭נָּהָר בְרָ֑גֶל שָׁ֝֗ם נִשְׂמְחָה־ בּֽוֹ׃ hā·p̄aḵ yām lə·yab·bā·šāh ya·‘aḇ·rū ban·nā·hār ḇə·rā·ḡel šām niś·mə·ḥāh- bōwWLC · 6

He rules forever by His power; His eyes watch the nations. Do not let the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah

𐤌𐤔𐤋 𐤏𐤅𐤋𐤌 𐤁𐤂𐤁𐤅𐤓𐤕𐤅 𐤏𐤉𐤍𐤉𐤅 𐤕𐤑𐤐𐤉𐤍𐤄 𐤁𐤂𐤅𐤉𐤌 𐤀𐤋 𐤄𐤎𐤅𐤓𐤓𐤉𐤌 𐤉𐤓𐤉𐤌𐤅 𐤋𐤌𐤅 𐤎𐤋𐤄

מֹ֘שֵׁ֤ל עוֹלָ֗ם בִּגְבוּרָת֨וֹ׀ עֵ֭ינָיו תִּצְפֶּ֑ינָה בַּגּוֹיִ֣ם אַל־ הַסּוֹרְרִ֓ים׀ יָרִימוּ לָ֣מוֹ סֶֽלָה׃ mō·šêl ‘ō·w·lām biḡ·ḇū·rā·ṯōw ‘ê·nāw tiṣ·pe·nāh bag·gō·w·yim ’al- has·sō·wr·rîm yå̄·rī·mū lā·mōw se·lāhWLC · 7

Bless our God, O peoples; let the sound of His praise be heard.

בָּרְכ֖וּ אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ עַמִּ֥ים׀ ק֣וֹל תְּהִלָּתֽוֹ׃ וְ֝הַשְׁמִ֗יעוּ bā·rə·ḵū ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū ‘am·mîm qō·wl tə·hil·lā·ṯōw wə·haš·mî·‘ūWLC · 8

He preserves our lives and keeps… our feet from slipping.

𐤄𐤔𐤌 𐤍𐤐𐤔𐤍𐤅 𐤁𐤇𐤉𐤉𐤌 𐤅𐤋𐤀 𐤍𐤕𐤍 𐤓𐤂𐤋𐤍𐤅 𐤋𐤌𐤅𐤈

הַשָּׂ֣ם נַ֭פְשֵׁנוּ בַּֽחַיִּ֑ים וְלֹֽא־ נָתַ֖ן רַגְלֵֽנוּ׃ לַמּ֣וֹט haś·śām nap̄·šê·nū ba·ḥay·yîm wə·lō- nā·ṯan raḡ·lê·nū lam·mō·wṭWLC · 9

10

For You, O God, have tested us; You have refined us like silver…

𐤊𐤉 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 𐤁𐤇𐤍𐤕𐤍𐤅 𐤑𐤓𐤐𐤕𐤍𐤅 𐤊𐤎𐤐 𐤊𐤑𐤓𐤐

כִּֽי־ אֱלֹהִ֑ים בְחַנְתָּ֥נוּ צְ֝רַפְתָּ֗נוּ כָּֽסֶף׃ כִּצְרָף־ kî- ’ĕ·lō·hîm ḇə·ḥan·tā·nū ṣə·rap̄·tā·nū kā·sep̄ kiṣ·rāp̄-WLC · 10

11

You led us into the net; You laid burdens on our backs.

𐤄𐤁𐤀𐤕𐤍𐤅 𐤁𐤌𐤑𐤅𐤃𐤄 𐤔𐤌𐤕 𐤌𐤅𐤏𐤒𐤄 𐤁𐤌𐤕𐤍𐤉𐤍𐤅

הֲבֵאתָ֥נוּ בַמְּצוּדָ֑ה שַׂ֖מְתָּ מוּעָקָ֣ה בְמָתְנֵֽינוּ׃ hă·ḇê·ṯā·nū ḇam·mə·ṣū·ḏāh śam·tā mū·‘ā·qāh ḇə·mā·ṯə·nê·nūWLC · 11

12

You let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but You brought us into abundance.

𐤀𐤍𐤅𐤔 𐤄𐤓𐤊𐤁𐤕 𐤋𐤓𐤀𐤔𐤍𐤅 𐤁𐤀𐤍𐤅 𐤁𐤀𐤔 𐤅𐤁𐤌𐤉𐤌 𐤅𐤕𐤅𐤑𐤉𐤀𐤍𐤅 𐤋𐤓𐤅𐤉𐤄

אֱנ֗וֹשׁ הִרְכַּ֥בְתָּ לְרֹ֫אשֵׁ֥נוּ בָּֽאנוּ־ בָאֵ֥שׁ וּבַמַּ֑יִם וַ֝תּוֹצִיאֵ֗נוּ לָֽרְוָיָֽה׃ ’ĕ·nō·wōš hir·kaḇ·tā lə·rō·šê·nū bā·nū- ḇā·’êš ū·ḇam·ma·yim wat·tō·w·ṣî·’ê·nū lā·rə·wā·yāhWLC · 12

I will enter Your house with burnt offerings; I will fulfill my vows to You—

𐤀𐤁𐤅𐤀 𐤁𐤉𐤕𐤊 𐤁𐤏𐤅𐤋𐤅𐤕 𐤀𐤔𐤋𐤌 𐤍𐤃𐤓𐤉 𐤋𐤊

אָב֣וֹא בֵיתְךָ֣ בְעוֹל֑וֹת אֲשַׁלֵּ֖ם נְדָרָֽי׃ לְךָ֣ ’ā·ḇō·w ḇê·ṯə·ḵā ḇə·‘ō·w·lō·wṯ ’ă·šal·lêm nə·ḏā·rāy lə·ḵāWLC · 13

14

[the vows] that my lips promised and my mouth spoke in my distress

𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤔𐤐𐤕𐤉 𐤐𐤑𐤅 𐤐𐤉 𐤅𐤃𐤁𐤓 𐤁𐤑𐤓 𐤋𐤉

אֲשֶׁר־ שְׂפָתָ֑י פָּצ֥וּ פִּ֝֗י וְדִבֶּר־ בַּצַּר־ לִֽי׃ ’ă·šer- śə·p̄ā·ṯāy pā·ṣū pî wə·ḏib·ber- baṣ·ṣar- lîWLC · 14

15

I will offer You fatlings as burnt offerings, with the fragrant smoke of rams; I will offer bulls and goats. Selah

𐤀𐤏𐤋𐤄 𐤋𐤊 𐤌𐤇𐤉𐤌 𐤏𐤋𐤅𐤕 𐤏𐤌 𐤒𐤈𐤓𐤕 𐤀𐤉𐤋𐤉𐤌 𐤀𐤏𐤔𐤄 𐤁𐤒𐤓 𐤏𐤌 𐤏𐤕𐤅𐤃𐤉𐤌 𐤎𐤋𐤄

אַעֲלֶה־ לָּ֭ךְ מֵחִ֣ים עֹ֘ל֤וֹת עִם־ קְטֹ֣רֶת אֵילִ֑ים אֶ֥עֱשֶֽׂה בָקָ֖ר עִם־ עַתּוּדִ֣ים סֶֽלָה׃ ’a·‘ă·leh- lāḵ mê·ḥîm ‘ō·lō·wṯ ‘im- qə·ṭō·reṯ ’ê·lîm ’e·‘ĕ·śeh ḇā·qār ‘im- ‘at·tū·ḏîm se·lāhWLC · 15

16

Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will declare what He has done for me.

𐤋𐤊𐤅 𐤔𐤌𐤏𐤅 𐤊𐤋 𐤉𐤓𐤀𐤉 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 𐤅𐤀𐤎𐤐𐤓𐤄 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤏𐤔𐤄 𐤋𐤍𐤐𐤔𐤉

לְכֽוּ־ שִׁמְע֣וּ כָּל־ יִרְאֵ֣י אֱלֹהִ֑ים וַ֭אֲסַפְּרָה אֲשֶׁ֖ר עָשָׂ֣ה לְנַפְשִֽׁי׃ lə·ḵū- šim·‘ū kāl- yir·’ê ’ĕ·lō·hîm wa·’ă·sap·pə·rāh ’ă·šer ‘ā·śāh lə·nap̄·šîWLC · 16

17

I cried out to Him with my mouth and praised Him with my tongue.

𐤒𐤓𐤀𐤕𐤉 𐤀𐤋𐤉𐤅 𐤐𐤉 𐤅𐤓𐤅𐤌𐤌 𐤕𐤇𐤕 𐤋𐤔𐤅𐤍𐤉

קָרָ֑אתִי אֵלָ֥יו פִּֽי־ וְ֝רוֹמַ֗ם תַּ֣חַת לְשׁוֹנִֽי׃ qā·rā·ṯî ’ê·lāw pî- wə·rō·w·mam ta·ḥaṯ lə·šō·w·nîWLC · 17

18

If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.

𐤀𐤌 𐤓𐤀𐤉𐤕𐤉 𐤀𐤅𐤍 𐤁𐤋𐤁𐤉 𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉 𐤋𐤀 𐤉𐤔𐤌𐤏

אִם־ רָאִ֣יתִי אָ֭וֶן בְלִבִּ֑י אֲדֹנָֽי׃ לֹ֖א יִשְׁמַ֣ע׀ ’im- rā·’î·ṯî ’ā·wen ḇə·lib·bî ’ă·ḏō·nāy lō yiš·ma‘WLC · 18

19

But God has surely heard; He has attended to the sound of my prayer.

𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 𐤀𐤊𐤍 𐤔𐤌𐤏 𐤄𐤒𐤔𐤉𐤁 𐤁𐤒𐤅𐤋 𐤕𐤐𐤋𐤕𐤉

אֱלֹהִ֑ים אָ֭כֵן שָׁמַ֣ע הִ֝קְשִׁ֗יב בְּק֣וֹל תְּפִלָּתִֽי׃ ’ĕ·lō·hîm ’ā·ḵên šā·ma‘ hiq·šîḇ bə·qō·wl tə·p̄il·lā·ṯîWLC · 19

20

Blessed [be] God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld from me His loving devotion!
