Endow the King with Your Justice
1
Of Solomon. 1Endow the king with Your justice, O God, and the son of the king with Your righteousness.
𐤋𐤔𐤋𐤌𐤄 𐤕𐤍 𐤋𐤌𐤋𐤊 𐤌𐤔𐤐𐤈𐤉𐤊 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 𐤋𐤁𐤍 𐤌𐤋𐤊 𐤅𐤑𐤃𐤒𐤕𐤊
לִשְׁלֹמֹ֨ה׀ תֵּ֑ן לְמֶ֣לֶךְ מִ֭שְׁפָּטֶיךָ אֱֽלֹהִ֗ים לְבֶן־ מֶֽלֶךְ׃ וְצִדְקָתְךָ֥ liš·lō·mōh tên lə·me·leḵ miš·pā·ṭe·ḵā ’ĕlō·hîm lə·ḇen- me·leḵ wə·ṣiḏ·qā·ṯə·ḵā — WLC · 1

May he judge Your people with righteousness and Your afflicted with justice.
𐤉𐤃𐤉𐤍 𐤏𐤌𐤊 𐤁𐤑𐤃𐤒 𐤅𐤏𐤍𐤉𐤉𐤊 𐤁𐤌𐤔𐤐𐤈
יָדִ֣ין עַמְּךָ֣ בְצֶ֑דֶק וַעֲנִיֶּ֥יךָ בְמִשְׁפָּֽט׃ yā·ḏîn ‘am·mə·ḵā ḇə·ṣe·ḏeq wa·‘ă·nî·ye·ḵā ḇə·miš·pāṭ — WLC · 2

May the mountains bring peace to the people, and the hills [bring] righteousness.
𐤄𐤓𐤉𐤌 𐤉𐤔𐤀𐤅 𐤔𐤋𐤅𐤌 𐤋𐤏𐤌 𐤅𐤂𐤁𐤏𐤅𐤕 𐤁𐤑𐤃𐤒𐤄
הָרִ֓ים יִשְׂא֤וּ שָׁ֘ל֥וֹם לָעָ֑ם וּ֝גְבָע֗וֹת בִּצְדָקָֽה׃ hā·rîm yiś·’ū šā·lō·wm lā·‘ām ū·ḡə·ḇā·‘ō·wṯ biṣ·ḏā·qāh — WLC · 3

May he vindicate the afflicted among the people; may he save the children of the needy and crush the oppressor.
𐤉𐤔𐤐𐤈 𐤏𐤍𐤉𐤉 𐤏𐤌 𐤉𐤅𐤔𐤉𐤏 𐤋𐤁𐤍𐤉 𐤀𐤁𐤉𐤅𐤍 𐤅𐤉𐤃𐤊𐤀 𐤏𐤅𐤔𐤒
יִשְׁפֹּ֤ט׀ עֲֽנִיֵּי־ עָ֗ם י֭וֹשִׁיעַ לִבְנֵ֣י אֶבְי֑וֹן וִֽידַכֵּ֣א עוֹשֵֽׁק׃ yiš·pōṭ ‘ănî·yê- ‘ām yō·wō·šî·a‘ liḇ·nê ’eḇ·yō·wn wî·ḏak·kê ‘ō·wō·šêq — WLC · 4

May they fear him as long as the sun [shines], as long as the moon [remains], through all generations.
𐤉𐤉𐤓𐤀𐤅𐤊 𐤏𐤌 𐤔𐤌𐤔 𐤅𐤋𐤐𐤍𐤉 𐤉𐤓𐤇 𐤃𐤅𐤓 𐤃𐤅𐤓𐤉𐤌
יִֽירָא֥וּךָ עִם־ שָׁ֑מֶשׁ וְלִפְנֵ֥י יָ֝רֵ֗חַ דּ֣וֹר דּוֹרִֽים׃ yî·rā·’ū·ḵā ‘im- šā·meš wə·lip̄·nê yā·rê·aḥ dō·wr dō·w·rîm — WLC · 5

May he be like rain that falls on freshly cut grass, like spring showers that water the earth.
𐤊𐤌𐤈𐤓 𐤉𐤓𐤃 𐤏𐤋 𐤂𐤆 𐤊𐤓𐤁𐤉𐤁𐤉𐤌 𐤆𐤓𐤆𐤉𐤐 𐤀𐤓𐤑
כְּמָטָ֣ר יֵ֭רֵד עַל־ גֵּ֑ז כִּ֝רְבִיבִ֗ים זַרְזִ֥יף אָֽרֶץ׃ kə·mā·ṭār yê·rêḏ ‘al- gêz kir·ḇî·ḇîm zar·zîp̄ ’ā·reṣ — WLC · 6

May the righteous flourish in his days and prosperity abound until the moon is no more.
𐤑𐤃𐤉𐤒 𐤉𐤐𐤓𐤇 𐤁𐤉𐤌𐤉𐤅 𐤔𐤋𐤅𐤌 𐤅𐤓𐤁 𐤏𐤃 𐤉𐤓𐤇 𐤁𐤋𐤉
צַדִּ֑יק יִֽפְרַח־ בְּיָמָ֥יו שָׁ֝ל֗וֹם וְרֹ֥ב עַד־ יָרֵֽחַ׃ בְּלִ֥י ṣad·dîq yip̄·raḥ- bə·yā·māw šā·lôm wə·rōḇ ‘aḏ- yā·rê·aḥ bə·lî — WLC · 7

May he rule from sea to sea, and from the [Euphrates] to the ends of the earth.
𐤅𐤉𐤓𐤃 𐤌𐤉𐤌 𐤏𐤃 𐤉𐤌 𐤅𐤌𐤍𐤄𐤓 𐤏𐤃 𐤀𐤐𐤎𐤉 𐤀𐤓𐤑
וְ֭יֵרְדְּ מִיָּ֣ם עַד־ יָ֑ם וּ֝מִנָּהָ֗ר עַד־ אַפְסֵי־ אָֽרֶץ׃ wə·yê·rəd mî·yām ‘aḏ- yām ū·min·nā·hār ‘aḏ- ’ap̄·sê- ’ā·reṣ — WLC · 8

May the nomads bow before him, and his enemies lick the dust.
𐤑𐤉𐤉𐤌 𐤉𐤊𐤓𐤏𐤅 𐤋𐤐𐤍𐤉𐤅 𐤅𐤀𐤉𐤁𐤉𐤅 𐤉𐤋𐤇𐤊𐤅 𐤏𐤐𐤓
צִיִּ֑ים יִכְרְע֣וּ לְ֭פָנָיו וְ֝אֹיְבָ֗יו יְלַחֵֽכוּ׃ עָפָ֥ר ṣî·yîm yiḵ·rə·‘ū lə·p̄ā·nāw wə·’ō·yə·ḇāw yə·la·ḥê·ḵū ‘ā·p̄ār — WLC · 9

May the kings of Tarshish and distant shores bring tribute; may the kings of Sheba and Seba offer gifts.
𐤌𐤋𐤊𐤉 𐤕𐤓𐤔𐤉𐤔 𐤅𐤀𐤉𐤉𐤌 𐤉𐤔𐤉𐤁𐤅 𐤌𐤍𐤇𐤄 𐤌𐤋𐤊𐤉 𐤔𐤁𐤀 𐤅𐤎𐤁𐤀 𐤉𐤒𐤓𐤉𐤁𐤅 𐤀𐤔𐤊𐤓
מַלְכֵ֬י תַרְשִׁ֣ישׁ וְ֭אִיִּים יָשִׁ֑יבוּ מִנְחָ֣ה מַלְכֵ֥י שְׁבָ֥א וּ֝סְבָ֗א יַקְרִֽיבוּ׃ אֶשְׁכָּ֥ר mal·ḵê ṯar·šîš wə·’î·yîm yā·šî·ḇū min·ḥāh mal·ḵê šə·ḇā ū·sə·ḇā yaq·rî·ḇū ’eš·kār — WLC · 10

May all kings bow down to him [and] all nations serve him.
𐤊𐤋 𐤌𐤋𐤊𐤉𐤌 𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤕𐤇𐤅𐤅 𐤋𐤅 𐤊𐤋 𐤂𐤅𐤉𐤌 𐤉𐤏𐤁𐤃𐤅𐤄𐤅
כָל־ מְלָכִ֑ים וְיִשְׁתַּחֲווּ־ ל֥וֹ כָּל־ גּוֹיִ֥ם יַֽעַבְדֽוּהוּ׃ ḵāl mə·lā·ḵîm wə·yiš·ta·ḥă·wū- lōw kāl- gō·w·yim ya·‘aḇ·ḏū·hū — WLC · 11

For he will deliver the needy who cry out and the afflicted who have no helper.
𐤊𐤉 𐤉𐤑𐤉𐤋 𐤀𐤁𐤉𐤅𐤍 𐤌𐤔𐤅𐤏 𐤅𐤏𐤍𐤉 𐤅𐤀𐤉𐤍 𐤏𐤆𐤓 𐤋𐤅
כִּֽי־ יַ֭צִּיל אֶבְי֣וֹן מְשַׁוֵּ֑עַ וְ֝עָנִ֗י וְֽאֵין־ עֹזֵ֥ר לֽוֹ׃ kî- yaṣ·ṣîl ’eḇ·yō·wn mə·šaw·wê·a‘ wə·‘ā·nî wə·’ên- ‘ō·zêr lōw — WLC · 12

He will take pity on the poor and needy and save the lives of the oppressed.
𐤉𐤇𐤎 𐤏𐤋 𐤃𐤋 𐤅𐤀𐤁𐤉𐤅𐤍 𐤉𐤅𐤔𐤉𐤏 𐤅𐤍𐤐𐤔𐤅𐤕 𐤀𐤁𐤉𐤅𐤍𐤉𐤌
יָ֭חֹס עַל־ דַּ֣ל וְאֶבְי֑וֹן יוֹשִֽׁיעַ׃ וְנַפְשׁ֖וֹת אֶבְיוֹנִ֣ים yā·ḥōs ‘al- dal wə·’eḇ·yō·wn yō·wō·šî·a‘ wə·nap̄·šō·wṯ ’eḇ·yō·w·nîm — WLC · 13
14
He will redeem them from oppression and violence, for their blood is precious in his sight.
𐤉𐤂𐤀𐤋 𐤍𐤐𐤔𐤌 𐤌𐤕𐤅𐤊 𐤅𐤌𐤇𐤌𐤎 𐤃𐤌𐤌 𐤅𐤉𐤉𐤒𐤓 𐤁𐤏𐤉𐤍𐤉𐤅
יִגְאַ֣ל נַפְשָׁ֑ם מִתּ֣וֹךְ וּ֭מֵחָמָס דָּמָ֣ם וְיֵיקַ֖ר בְּעֵינָֽיו׃ yiḡ·’al nap̄·šām mit·tō·wḵ ū·mê·ḥā·mās dā·mām wə·yê·qar bə·‘ê·nāw — WLC · 14

Long may he live! May gold from Sheba be given him. May people ever pray for him; may they bless him all day long.
𐤅𐤉𐤇𐤉 𐤌𐤆𐤄𐤁 𐤔𐤁𐤀 𐤅𐤉𐤕𐤍 𐤋𐤅 𐤕𐤌𐤉𐤃 𐤅𐤉𐤕𐤐𐤋𐤋 𐤁𐤏𐤃𐤅 𐤉𐤁𐤓𐤊𐤍𐤄𐤅 𐤊𐤋 𐤄𐤉𐤅𐤌
וִיחִ֗י מִזְּהַ֪ב שְׁ֫בָ֥א וְיִתֶּן־ לוֹ֮ תָמִ֑יד וְיִתְפַּלֵּ֣ל בַּעֲד֣וֹ יְבָרֲכֶֽנְהֽוּ׃ כָּל־ הַ֝יּ֗וֹם wî·ḥî miz·zə·haḇ šə·ḇā wə·yit·ten- lōw ṯā·mîḏ wə·yiṯ·pal·lêl ba·‘ă·ḏōw yə·ḇā·ră·ḵen·hū kāl- hay·yō·wm — WLC · 15

May there be an abundance of grain in the land; may it sway atop the hills. May its fruit trees flourish like [the forests of] Lebanon, [the people] of its cities like the grass of the field.
𐤉𐤄𐤉 𐤐𐤎𐤕 𐤁𐤓 𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 𐤉𐤓𐤏𐤔 𐤁𐤓𐤀𐤔 𐤄𐤓𐤉𐤌 𐤐𐤓𐤉𐤅 𐤅𐤉𐤑𐤉𐤑𐤅 𐤊𐤋𐤁𐤍𐤅𐤍 𐤌𐤏𐤉𐤓 𐤊𐤏𐤔𐤁 𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑
יְהִ֤י פִסַּת־ בַּ֨ר׀ בָּאָרֶץ֮ יִרְעַ֣שׁ בְּרֹ֪אשׁ הָ֫רִ֥ים פִּרְי֑וֹ וְיָצִ֥יצוּ כַּלְּבָנ֣וֹן מֵ֝עִ֗יר כְּעֵ֣שֶׂב הָאָֽרֶץ׃ yə·hî p̄is·saṯ- bar bā·’ā·reṣ yir·‘aš bə·rōš hā·rîm pir·yōw wə·yā·ṣî·ṣū kal·lə·ḇā·nō·wn mê·‘îr kə·‘ê·śeḇ hā·’ā·reṣ — WLC · 16

May his name endure forever; may his name continue as long as the sun [shines]. In him may all nations be blessed; may they call him blessed.

שְׁמ֨וֹ יְהִ֤י לְֽעוֹלָ֗ם שְׁ֫מ֥וֹ יָנִין לִפְנֵי־ שֶׁמֶשׁ֮ ב֑וֹ כָּל־ גּוֹיִ֥ם וְיִתְבָּ֥רְכוּ יְאַשְּׁרֽוּהוּ׃ šə·mōw yə·hî lə·‘ō·w·lām šə·mōw yå̄·nīn lip̄·nê- še·meš ḇōw kāl- gō·w·yim wə·yiṯ·bā·rə·ḵū yə·’aš·šə·rū·hū — WLC · 17

Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who alone does marvelous deeds.
𐤁𐤓𐤅𐤊 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉 𐤉𐤔𐤓𐤀𐤋 𐤋𐤁𐤃𐤅 𐤏𐤔𐤄 𐤍𐤐𐤋𐤀𐤅𐤕
בָּר֤וּךְ׀ יְהוָ֣ה אֱ֭לֹהִים אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל לְבַדּֽוֹ׃ עֹשֵׂ֖ה נִפְלָא֣וֹת bā·rūḵ Yah·weh ’ĕ·lō·hîm ’ĕ·lō·hê yiś·rā·’êl lə·ḇad·dōw ‘ō·śêh nip̄·lā·’ō·wṯ — WLC · 18

And blessed [be] His glorious name forever; may all the earth be filled with His glory. Amen and amen.

וּבָר֤וּךְ׀ כְּבוֹד֗וֹ שֵׁ֥ם לְע֫וֹלָ֥ם כֹּ֥ל הָאָ֗רֶץ וְיִמָּלֵ֣א כְ֭בוֹדוֹ אֶת־ אָ֘מֵ֥ן׀ וְאָמֵֽן׃ ū·ḇā·rūḵ kə·ḇō·w·ḏōw šêm lə·‘ō·w·lām kōl hā·’ā·reṣ wə·yim·mā·lê ḵə·ḇō·w·ḏōw ’eṯ- ’ā·mên wə·’ā·mên — WLC · 19
