The LORD Loves the Gates of Zion

A Psalm of the sons of Korah. A song. 1He has founded His city on the holy mountains.

מִזְמ֣וֹר לִבְנֵי־ קֹ֭רַח שִׁ֑יר יְ֝סוּדָת֗וֹ קֹֽדֶשׁ׃ בְּהַרְרֵי־ miz·mō·wr liḇ·nê- qō·raḥ šîr yə·sū·ḏā·ṯōw qō·ḏeš bə·har·rê- — WLC · 1

The LORD loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.

Glorious things are ascribed to you, O city of God. Selah
𐤍𐤊𐤁𐤃𐤅𐤕 𐤌𐤃𐤁𐤓 𐤁𐤊 𐤏𐤉𐤓 𐤄𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 𐤎𐤋𐤄
נִ֭כְבָּדוֹת מְדֻבָּ֣ר בָּ֑ךְ עִ֖יר הָאֱלֹהִ֣ים סֶֽלָה׃ niḵ·bā·ḏō·wṯ mə·ḏub·bār bāḵ ‘îr hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm se·lāh — WLC · 3

“I will mention Rahab and Babylon among those who know Me— along with Philistia, Tyre, and Cush [when I say,] ‘This one was born [in Zion].’”

אַזְכִּ֤יר׀ רַ֥הַב וּבָבֶ֗ל לְֽיֹ֫דְעָ֥י הִנֵּ֤ה פְלֶ֣שֶׁת וְצ֣וֹר עִם־ כּ֑וּשׁ זֶ֝֗ה יֻלַּד־ שָֽׁם׃ ’az·kîr ra·haḇ ū·ḇā·ḇel lə·yō·ḏə·‘āy hin·nêh p̄ə·le·šeṯ wə·ṣō·wr ‘im- kūš zeh yul·laḏ- šām — WLC · 4

And it will be said of Zion: “This one and that one were born in her, and the Most High Himself will establish her.”

יֵאָמַ֗ר וּֽלֲצִיּ֨וֹן׀ אִ֣ישׁ וְ֭אִישׁ יֻלַּד־ בָּ֑הּ עֶלְיֽוֹן׃ וְה֖וּא יְכוֹנְנֶ֣הָ yê·’ā·mar ū·lă·ṣî·yō·wn ’îš wə·’îš yul·laḏ- bāh ‘el·yō·wn wə·hū yə·ḵō·wn·ne·hā — WLC · 5

The LORD will record in the register of the peoples: “This one was born [in Zion].” Selah

יְֽהוָ֗ה יִ֭סְפֹּר בִּכְת֣וֹב עַמִּ֑ים זֶ֖ה יֻלַּד־ שָׁ֣ם סֶֽלָה׃ Yah·weh yis·pōr biḵ·ṯō·wḇ ‘am·mîm zeh yul·laḏ- šām se·lāh — WLC · 6

Singers and pipers [will proclaim], “All my springs [of joy] [are] in You.”
