Chapter 1

The Destruction of Edom

1

[This is] the vision of Obadiah: This is what the Lord GOD says about Edom— We have heard… a message from the LORD; an envoy has been sent among the nations [to say,] “Rise up, and let us go to battle against her!”—

𐤇𐤆𐤅𐤍 𐤏𐤁𐤃𐤉𐤄 𐤊𐤄 𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤀𐤌𐤓 𐤋𐤀𐤃𐤅𐤌 𐤔𐤌𐤏𐤍𐤅 𐤌𐤀𐤕 𐤔𐤌𐤅𐤏𐤄 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤅𐤑𐤉𐤓 𐤔𐤋𐤇 𐤁𐤂𐤅𐤉𐤌 𐤒𐤅𐤌𐤅 𐤅𐤍𐤒𐤅𐤌𐤄 𐤋𐤌𐤋𐤇𐤌𐤄 𐤏𐤋𐤉𐤄

חֲז֖וֹן עֹֽבַדְיָ֑ה כֹּֽה־ אֲדֹנָ֨י יְהוִ֜ה אָמַר֩ לֶאֱד֗וֹם שָׁמַ֜עְנוּ מֵאֵ֤ת שְׁמוּעָ֨ה יְהוָה֙ וְצִיר֙ שֻׁלָּ֔ח בַּגּוֹיִ֣ם ק֛וּמוּ וְנָק֥וּמָה לַמִּלְחָמָֽה׃ עָלֶיהָ ḥă·zō·wn ‘ō·ḇaḏ·yāh kōh- ’ă·ḏō·nāy Yah·weh ’ā·mar le·’ĕ·ḏō·wm šā·ma‘·nū mê·’êṯ šə·mū·‘āh Yah·weh wə·ṣîr šul·lāḥ bag·gō·w·yim qū·mū wə·nā·qū·māh lam·mil·ḥā·māh ʿå̄·lɛ·hå̄WLC · 1

“Behold, I will make you small among the nations; you will be deeply despised.

𐤄𐤍𐤄 𐤍𐤕𐤕𐤉𐤊 𐤒𐤈𐤍 𐤁𐤂𐤅𐤉𐤌 𐤀𐤕𐤄 𐤌𐤀𐤃 𐤁𐤆𐤅𐤉

הִנֵּ֥ה נְתַתִּ֖יךָ קָטֹ֛ן בַּגּוֹיִ֑ם אַתָּ֖ה מְאֹֽד׃ בָּז֥וּי hin·nêh nə·ṯat·tî·ḵā qā·ṭōn bag·gō·w·yim ’at·tāh mə·’ōḏ bā·zuiWLC · 2

The pride of your heart has deceived you, O dwellers in the clefts of the rocks whose habitation is the heights, who say in your heart, ‘Who can bring me down to the ground?’

𐤆𐤃𐤅𐤍 𐤋𐤁𐤊 𐤄𐤔𐤉𐤀𐤊 𐤔𐤊𐤍𐤉 𐤁𐤇𐤂𐤅𐤉 𐤎𐤋𐤏 𐤔𐤁𐤕𐤅 𐤌𐤓𐤅𐤌 𐤀𐤌𐤓 𐤁𐤋𐤁𐤅 𐤌𐤉 𐤉𐤅𐤓𐤃𐤍𐤉 𐤀𐤓𐤑

זְד֤וֹן לִבְּךָ֙ הִשִּׁיאֶ֔ךָ שֹׁכְנִ֥י בְחַגְוֵי־ סֶּ֖לַע שִׁבְתּ֑וֹ מְר֣וֹם אֹמֵ֣ר בְּלִבּ֔וֹ מִ֥י יוֹרִדֵ֖נִי אָֽרֶץ׃ zə·ḏō·wn lib·bə·ḵā hiš·šî·’e·ḵā šō·ḵə·nî ḇə·ḥaḡ·wê- se·la‘ šiḇ·tōw mə·rō·wm ’ō·mêr bə·lib·bōw mî yō·w·ri·ḏê·nî ’ā·reṣWLC · 3

Though you soar like the eagle… and make your nest among the stars, even from there I will bring you down,” declares the LORD.

𐤀𐤌 𐤕𐤂𐤁𐤉𐤄 𐤊𐤍𐤔𐤓 𐤅𐤀𐤌 𐤔𐤉𐤌 𐤒𐤍𐤊 𐤁𐤉𐤍 𐤊𐤅𐤊𐤁𐤉𐤌 𐤌𐤔𐤌 𐤀𐤅𐤓𐤉𐤃𐤊 𐤍𐤀𐤌 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄

אִם־ תַּגְבִּ֣יהַּ כַּנֶּ֔שֶׁר וְאִם־ שִׂ֣ים קִנֶּ֑ךָ בֵּ֥ין כּֽוֹכָבִ֖ים מִשָּׁ֥ם אוֹרִֽידְךָ֖ נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃ ’im- taḡ·bî·ah kan·ne·šer wə·’im- śîm qin·ne·ḵā bên kō·w·ḵā·ḇîm miš·šām ’ō·w·rî·ḏə·ḵā nə·’um- Yah·wehWLC · 4

“If thieves came to you, if robbers by night— oh, how you will be ruined— would they not steal [only] what they wanted? If grape gatherers came to you, would they not leave [some] gleanings?

𐤀𐤌 𐤂𐤍𐤁𐤉𐤌 𐤁𐤀𐤅 𐤋𐤊 𐤀𐤌 𐤔𐤅𐤃𐤃𐤉 𐤋𐤉𐤋𐤄 𐤀𐤉𐤊 𐤍𐤃𐤌𐤉𐤕𐤄 𐤄𐤋𐤅𐤀 𐤉𐤂𐤍𐤁𐤅 𐤃𐤉𐤌 𐤀𐤌 𐤁𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 𐤁𐤀𐤅 𐤋𐤊 𐤄𐤋𐤅𐤀 𐤉𐤔𐤀𐤉𐤓𐤅 𐤏𐤋𐤋𐤅𐤕

אִם־ גַּנָּבִ֤ים בָּאֽוּ־ לְךָ֙ אִם־ שׁ֣וֹדְדֵי לַ֔יְלָה אֵ֣יךְ נִדְמֵ֔יתָה הֲל֥וֹא יִגְנְב֖וּ דַּיָּ֑ם אִם־ בֹּֽצְרִים֙ בָּ֣אוּ לָ֔ךְ הֲל֖וֹא יַשְׁאִ֥ירוּ עֹלֵלֽוֹת׃ ’im- gan·nā·ḇîm bā·’ū- lə·ḵā ’im- šō·wḏ·ḏê lay·lāh ’êḵ niḏ·mê·ṯāh hă·lō·w yiḡ·nə·ḇū day·yām ’im- bō·ṣə·rîm bā·’ū lāḵ hă·lō·w yaš·’î·rū ‘ō·lê·lō·wṯWLC · 5

But how Esau will be pillaged, his hidden treasures sought out!

𐤀𐤉𐤊 𐤏𐤔𐤅 𐤍𐤇𐤐𐤔𐤅 𐤌𐤑𐤐𐤍𐤉𐤅 𐤍𐤁𐤏𐤅

אֵ֚יךְ עֵשָׂ֔ו נֶחְפְּשׂ֣וּ מַצְפֻּנָֽיו׃ נִבְע֖וּ ’êḵ ‘ê·śāw neḥ·pə·śū maṣ·pu·nāw niḇ·‘ūWLC · 6

7

All the men allied with you will drive you to the border; the men at peace with you will deceive and overpower you. [Those who eat] your bread will set a trap for you without your awareness of it.

𐤊𐤋 𐤀𐤍𐤔𐤉 𐤁𐤓𐤉𐤕𐤊 𐤔𐤋𐤇𐤅𐤊 𐤏𐤃 𐤄𐤂𐤁𐤅𐤋 𐤀𐤍𐤔𐤉 𐤔𐤋𐤌𐤊 𐤄𐤔𐤉𐤀𐤅𐤊 𐤉𐤊𐤋𐤅 𐤋𐤊 𐤋𐤇𐤌𐤊 𐤉𐤔𐤉𐤌𐤅 𐤌𐤆𐤅𐤓 𐤕𐤇𐤕𐤉𐤊 𐤀𐤉𐤍 𐤕𐤁𐤅𐤍𐤄 𐤁𐤅

כֹּ֚ל אַנְשֵׁ֣י בְרִיתֶ֔ךָ שִׁלְּח֗וּךָ עַֽד־ הַגְּב֣וּל אַנְשֵׁ֣י שְׁלֹמֶ֑ךָ הִשִּׁיא֛וּךָ יָכְל֥וּ לְךָ֖ לַחְמְךָ֗ יָשִׂ֤ימוּ מָזוֹר֙ תַּחְתֶּ֔יךָ אֵ֥ין תְּבוּנָ֖ה בּֽוֹ׃ kōl ’an·šê ḇə·rî·ṯe·ḵā šil·lə·ḥū·ḵā ‘aḏ- hag·gə·ḇūl ’an·šê šə·lō·me·ḵā hiš·šî·’ū·ḵā yā·ḵə·lū lə·ḵā laḥ·mə·ḵā yā·śî·mū mā·zō·wr taḥ·te·ḵā ’ên tə·ḇū·nāh bōwWLC · 7

In that day, declares the LORD, will I not destroy the wise [men] of Edom and the men of understanding in the mountains of Esau?

𐤄𐤄𐤅𐤀 𐤁𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤍𐤀𐤌 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤄𐤋𐤅𐤀 𐤅𐤄𐤀𐤁𐤃𐤕𐤉 𐤇𐤊𐤌𐤉𐤌 𐤌𐤀𐤃𐤅𐤌 𐤅𐤕𐤁𐤅𐤍𐤄 𐤌𐤄𐤓 𐤏𐤔𐤅

הַה֖וּא בַּיּ֥וֹם נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֑ה הֲל֛וֹא וְהַאֲבַדְתִּ֤י חֲכָמִים֙ מֵֽאֱד֔וֹם וּתְבוּנָ֖ה מֵהַ֥ר עֵשָֽׂו׃ ha·hū bay·yō·wm nə·’um Yah·weh hă·lō·w wə·ha·’ă·ḇaḏ·tî ḥă·ḵā·mîm mê·’ĕ·ḏō·wm ū·ṯə·ḇū·nāh mê·har ‘ê·śāwWLC · 8

Then your mighty men, O Teman, will be terrified, so that everyone in the mountains of Esau will be cut down in the slaughter.

𐤂𐤁𐤅𐤓𐤉𐤊 𐤕𐤉𐤌𐤍 𐤅𐤇𐤕𐤅 𐤋𐤌𐤏𐤍 𐤀𐤉𐤔 𐤌𐤄𐤓 𐤏𐤔𐤅 𐤉𐤊𐤓𐤕 𐤌𐤒𐤈𐤋

גִבּוֹרֶ֖יךָ תֵּימָ֑ן וְחַתּ֥וּ לְמַ֧עַן אִ֛ישׁ מֵהַ֥ר עֵשָׂ֖ו יִכָּֽרֶת־ מִקָּֽטֶל׃ ḡib·bō·w·re·ḵā tê·mān wə·ḥat·tū lə·ma·‘an ’îš mê·har ‘ê·śāw yik·kā·reṯ- miq·qā·ṭelWLC · 9

Because of the violence against your brother Jacob, you will be covered with shame and cut off forever.

𐤌𐤇𐤌𐤎 𐤀𐤇𐤉𐤊 𐤉𐤏𐤒𐤁 𐤕𐤊𐤎𐤊 𐤁𐤅𐤔𐤄 𐤅𐤍𐤊𐤓𐤕 𐤋𐤏𐤅𐤋𐤌

מֵחֲמַ֛ס אָחִ֥יךָ יַעֲקֹ֖ב תְּכַסְּךָ֣ בוּשָׁ֑ה וְנִכְרַ֖תָּ לְעוֹלָֽם׃ mê·ḥă·mas ’ā·ḥî·ḵā ya·‘ă·qōḇ tə·ḵas·sə·ḵā ḇū·šāh wə·niḵ·ra·tā lə·‘ō·w·lāmWLC · 10

On the day you stood aloof while strangers carried off his wealth and foreigners entered his gate and cast lots… for Jerusalem, you were just like one of them.

𐤁𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤏𐤌𐤃𐤊 𐤌𐤍𐤂𐤃 𐤁𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤆𐤓𐤉𐤌 𐤔𐤁𐤅𐤕 𐤇𐤉𐤋𐤅 𐤅𐤍𐤊𐤓𐤉𐤌 𐤁𐤀𐤅 𐤔𐤏𐤓𐤅 𐤉𐤃𐤅 𐤂𐤅𐤓𐤋 𐤂𐤌 𐤅𐤏𐤋 𐤉𐤓𐤅𐤔𐤋𐤌 𐤀𐤕𐤄 𐤊𐤀𐤇𐤃 𐤌𐤄𐤌

בְּיוֹם֙ עֲמָֽדְךָ֣ מִנֶּ֔גֶד בְּי֛וֹם זָרִ֖ים שְׁב֥וֹת חֵיל֑וֹ וְנָכְרִ֞ים בָּ֣אוּ שַׁעֲרוֹ יַדּ֣וּ גוֹרָ֔ל גַּם־ וְעַל־ יְרוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ אַתָּ֖ה כְּאַחַ֥ד מֵהֶֽם׃ bə·yō·wm ‘ă·mā·ḏə·ḵā min·ne·ḡeḏ bə·yō·wm zā·rîm šə·ḇō·wṯ ḥê·lōw wə·nā·ḵə·rîm bā·’ū ša·ʿă·rō yad·dū ḡō·w·rāl gam- wə·‘al- yə·rū·šā·lim ’at·tāh kə·’a·ḥaḏ mê·hemWLC · 11

But you should not gloat in that day, your brother’s day of misfortune, nor rejoice over the people of Judah in the day of their destruction, nor boast proudly… in the day of their distress.

𐤅𐤀𐤋 𐤕𐤓𐤀 𐤁𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤀𐤇𐤉𐤊 𐤁𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤍𐤊𐤓𐤅 𐤅𐤀𐤋 𐤕𐤔𐤌𐤇 𐤋𐤁𐤍𐤉 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤃𐤄 𐤁𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤀𐤁𐤃𐤌 𐤅𐤀𐤋 𐤕𐤂𐤃𐤋 𐤐𐤉𐤊 𐤁𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤑𐤓𐤄

וְאַל־ תֵּ֤רֶא בְיוֹם־ אָחִ֙יךָ֙ בְּי֣וֹם נָכְר֔וֹ וְאַל־ תִּשְׂמַ֥ח לִבְנֵֽי־ יְהוּדָ֖ה בְּי֣וֹם אָבְדָ֑ם וְאַל־ תַּגְדֵּ֥ל פִּ֖יךָ בְּי֥וֹם צָרָֽה׃ wə·’al- tê·re ḇə·yō·wm- ’ā·ḥî·ḵā bə·yō·wm nā·ḵə·rōw wə·’al- tiś·maḥ liḇ·nê- yə·hū·ḏāh bə·yō·wm ’ā·ḇə·ḏām wə·’al- taḡ·dêl pî·ḵā bə·yō·wm ṣā·rāhWLC · 12

You should not enter the gate of My people in the day of their disaster, nor gloat over their affliction in the day of their disaster, nor loot their wealth in the day of their disaster.

𐤀𐤋 𐤕𐤁𐤅𐤀 𐤁𐤔𐤏𐤓 𐤏𐤌𐤉 𐤁𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤀𐤉𐤃𐤌 𐤀𐤋 𐤕𐤓𐤀 𐤂𐤌 𐤀𐤕𐤄 𐤁𐤓𐤏𐤕𐤅 𐤁𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤀𐤉𐤃𐤅 𐤅𐤀𐤋 𐤕𐤔𐤋𐤇𐤍𐤄 𐤁𐤇𐤉𐤋𐤅 𐤁𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤀𐤉𐤃𐤅

אַל־ תָּב֤וֹא בְשַֽׁעַר־ עַמִּי֙ בְּי֣וֹם אֵידָ֔ם אַל־ תֵּ֧רֶא גַם־ אַתָּ֛ה בְּרָעָת֖וֹ בְּי֣וֹם אֵיד֑וֹ וְאַל־ תִּשְׁלַ֥חְנָה בְחֵיל֖וֹ בְּי֥וֹם אֵידֽוֹ׃ ’al- tā·ḇō·w ḇə·ša·‘ar- ‘am·mî bə·yō·wm ’ê·ḏām ’al- tê·re ḡam- ’at·tāh bə·rā·‘ā·ṯōw bə·yō·wm ’ê·ḏōw wə·’al- tiš·laḥ·nāh ḇə·ḥê·lōw bə·yō·wm ’ê·ḏōwWLC · 13

Nor should you stand at the crossroads to cut off their fugitives, nor deliver up their survivors in the day of their distress.

𐤅𐤀𐤋 𐤕𐤏𐤌𐤃 𐤏𐤋 𐤄𐤐𐤓𐤒 𐤋𐤄𐤊𐤓𐤉𐤕 𐤀𐤕 𐤐𐤋𐤉𐤈𐤉𐤅 𐤅𐤀𐤋 𐤕𐤎𐤂𐤓 𐤔𐤓𐤉𐤃𐤉𐤅 𐤁𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤑𐤓𐤄

וְאַֽל־ תַּעֲמֹד֙ עַל־ הַפֶּ֔רֶק לְהַכְרִ֖ית אֶת־ פְּלִיטָ֑יו וְאַל־ תַּסְגֵּ֥ר שְׂרִידָ֖יו בְּי֥וֹם צָרָֽה׃ wə·’al- ta·‘ă·mōḏ ‘al- hap·pe·req lə·haḵ·rîṯ ’eṯ- pə·lî·ṭāw wə·’al- tas·gêr śə·rî·ḏāw bə·yō·wm ṣā·rāhWLC · 14

The Deliverance of Israel

For the Day of the LORD is near for all the nations. As you have done, it will be done to you; your recompense will return upon your own head.

𐤊𐤉 𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤒𐤓𐤅𐤁 𐤏𐤋 𐤊𐤋 𐤄𐤂𐤅𐤉𐤌 𐤊𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤏𐤔𐤉𐤕 𐤉𐤏𐤔𐤄 𐤋𐤊 𐤂𐤌𐤋𐤊 𐤉𐤔𐤅𐤁 𐤁𐤓𐤀𐤔𐤊

כִּֽי־ יוֹם־ יְהוָ֖ה קָר֥וֹב עַל־ כָּל־ הַגּוֹיִ֑ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר עָשִׂ֙יתָ֙ יֵעָ֣שֶׂה לָּ֔ךְ גְּמֻלְךָ֖ יָשׁ֥וּב בְּרֹאשֶֽׁךָ׃ kî- yō·wm- Yah·weh qā·rō·wḇ ‘al- kāl- hag·gō·w·yim ka·’ă·šer ‘ā·śî·ṯā yê·‘ā·śeh lāḵ gə·mul·ḵā yā·šūḇ bə·rō·še·ḵāWLC · 15

For as you drank on My holy mountain, so all the nations will drink continually. They will drink and gulp [it] down; they will be as if they had never existed.

𐤊𐤉 𐤊𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤔𐤕𐤉𐤕𐤌 𐤏𐤋 𐤒𐤃𐤔𐤉 𐤄𐤓 𐤊𐤋 𐤄𐤂𐤅𐤉𐤌 𐤉𐤔𐤕𐤅 𐤕𐤌𐤉𐤃 𐤅𐤔𐤕𐤅 𐤅𐤋𐤏𐤅 𐤅𐤄𐤉𐤅 𐤊𐤋𐤅𐤀 𐤄𐤉𐤅

כִּ֗י כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֤ר שְׁתִיתֶם֙ עַל־ קָדְשִׁ֔י הַ֣ר כָֽל־ הַגּוֹיִ֖ם יִשְׁתּ֥וּ תָּמִ֑יד וְשָׁת֣וּ וְלָע֔וּ וְהָי֖וּ כְּל֥וֹא הָיֽוּ׃ kî ka·’ă·šer šə·ṯî·ṯem ‘al- qāḏ·šî har ḵāl hag·gō·w·yim yiš·tū tā·mîḏ wə·šā·ṯū wə·lā·‘ū wə·hā·yū kə·lō·w hā·yūWLC · 16

But on Mount Zion there will be deliverance, and it will be holy, and the house of Jacob will reclaim their possession.

𐤅𐤁𐤄𐤓 𐤑𐤉𐤅𐤍 𐤕𐤄𐤉𐤄 𐤐𐤋𐤉𐤈𐤄 𐤅𐤄𐤉𐤄 𐤒𐤃𐤔 𐤁𐤉𐤕 𐤉𐤏𐤒𐤁 𐤀𐤕 𐤅𐤉𐤓𐤔𐤅 𐤌𐤅𐤓𐤔𐤉𐤄𐤌

וּבְהַ֥ר צִיּ֛וֹן תִּהְיֶ֥ה פְלֵיטָ֖ה וְהָ֣יָה קֹ֑דֶשׁ בֵּ֣ית יַֽעֲקֹ֔ב אֵ֖ת וְיָֽרְשׁוּ֙ מוֹרָֽשֵׁיהֶם׃ ū·ḇə·har ṣî·yō·wn tih·yeh p̄ə·lê·ṭāh wə·hā·yāh qō·ḏeš bêṯ ya·‘ă·qōḇ ’êṯ wə·yā·rə·šū mō·rå̄·šē·hɛmWLC · 17

Then the house of Jacob will be a blazing fire, and the house of Joseph a burning flame; but the house of Esau will be stubble— Jacob will set it ablaze and consume it. Therefore no survivor will remain from the house of Esau.” For the LORD has spoken.

𐤁𐤉𐤕 𐤉𐤏𐤒𐤁 𐤅𐤄𐤉𐤄 𐤀𐤔 𐤅𐤁𐤉𐤕 𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 𐤋𐤄𐤁𐤄 𐤅𐤁𐤉𐤕 𐤏𐤔𐤅 𐤋𐤒𐤔 𐤅𐤃𐤋𐤒𐤅 𐤁𐤄𐤌 𐤅𐤀𐤊𐤋𐤅𐤌 𐤅𐤋𐤀 𐤔𐤓𐤉𐤃 𐤉𐤄𐤉𐤄 𐤋𐤁𐤉𐤕 𐤏𐤔𐤅 𐤊𐤉 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤃𐤁𐤓

בֵית־ יַעֲקֹ֨ב וְהָיָה֩ אֵ֜שׁ וּבֵ֧ית יוֹסֵ֣ף לֶהָבָ֗ה וּבֵ֤ית עֵשָׂו֙ לְקַ֔שׁ וְדָלְק֥וּ בָהֶ֖ם וַאֲכָל֑וּם וְלֹֽא־ שָׂרִיד֙ יִֽהְיֶ֤ה לְבֵ֣ית עֵשָׂ֔ו כִּ֥י יְהוָ֖ה דִּבֵּֽר׃ ḇêṯ- ya·‘ă·qōḇ wə·hā·yāh ’êš ū·ḇêṯ yō·w·sêp̄ le·hā·ḇāh ū·ḇêṯ ‘ê·śāw lə·qaš wə·ḏā·lə·qū ḇā·hem wa·’ă·ḵā·lūm wə·lō- śā·rîḏ yih·yeh lə·ḇêṯ ‘ê·śāw kî Yah·weh dib·bêrWLC · 18

Those from the Negev will possess the mountains of Esau; those from the foothills [will possess the land] of the Philistines. They will occupy the fields of Ephraim - and Samaria, and Benjamin [will possess] Gilead.

הַנֶּ֜גֶב אֶת־ וְיָרְשׁ֨וּ הַ֣ר עֵשָׂ֗ו וְהַשְּׁפֵלָה֙ אֶת־ פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים וְיָרְשׁוּ֙ אֶת־ שְׂדֵ֣ה אֶפְרַ֔יִם וְאֵ֖ת שְׂדֵ֣ה שֹׁמְר֑וֹן וּבִנְיָמִ֖ן אֶת־ הַגִּלְעָֽד׃ han·ne·ḡeḇ ’eṯ- wə·yā·rə·šū har ‘ê·śāw wə·haš·šə·p̄ê·lāh ’eṯ- pə·liš·tîm wə·yā·rə·šū ’eṯ- śə·ḏêh ’ep̄·ra·yim wə·’êṯ śə·ḏêh šō·mə·rō·wn ū·ḇin·yā·min ’eṯ- hag·gil·‘āḏWLC · 19

And the exiles of this host vvv of the Israelites [will possess the land] of the Canaanites as far as Zarephath; and the exiles from Jerusalem who are in Sepharad will possess the cities of the Negev.

וְגָלֻ֣ת הַ֠זֶּה הַֽחֵל־ לִבְנֵ֨י יִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל אֲשֶֽׁר־ כְּנַעֲנִים֙ עַד־ צָ֣רְפַ֔ת וְגָלֻ֥ת יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם אֲשֶׁ֣ר בִּסְפָרַ֑ד יִֽרְשׁ֕וּ אֵ֖ת עָרֵ֥י הַנֶּֽגֶב׃ wə·ḡā·luṯ haz·zeh ha·ḥêl- liḇ·nê yiś·rā·’êl ’ă·šer- kə·na·‘ă·nîm ‘aḏ- ṣā·rə·p̄aṯ wə·ḡā·luṯ yə·rū·šā·lim ’ă·šer bis·p̄ā·raḏ yir·šū ’êṯ ‘ā·rê han·ne·ḡeḇWLC · 20

The deliverers will ascend Mount Zion to rule over the mountains of Esau. And the kingdom will belong to the LORD.
